E' coordinato e diretto da un Team di sviluppo coadiuvato da una community di utenti e collaboratori che forniscono la propria opera gratuitamente. Accoglie pertanto documenti, testi, idee e materiale protetto dal diritto d'autore e software rilasciato sotto diverse licenze. Preambolo Qualsiasi programma viene rilasciato sotto una licenza che ne detta le condizioni d’uso e redistribuzione. I programmi commerciali non possono essere utilizzati senza che l'utilizzatore acQuisti una regolare licenza. Anche per i programmi rilasciati sotto licenza "Freeware per uso personale" è consentito l'utilizzo gratuito, ma l’utente è tenuto ad acQuistare una licenza se intende utilizzarli in ambito diverso da Quello privato. I software rilasciati sotto la licenza "Freeware", invece, possono essere regolarmente e legalmente utilizzati ovunQue, anche nelle scuole e negli uffici. Infine, i programmi rilasciati sotto le licenze open source (GPL, MPL, LGPL, ecc..), sono soggetti solo ad alcune restrizioni relative alla modifica e redistribuzione. La loro particolarità è che invece di vietare, permettono non solo di usare e copiare, ma anche di modificare, ampliare, elaborare i software originali. winPenPack, proprio nell'ottica dello sviluppo e della diffusione del Software Libero portabile, rivolge principalmente il proprio interesse verso Quest'ultima categoria di software, liberamente modificabile e Quindi "portabilizzabile". Includendo nelle distribuzioni solo software rilasciato sotto le licenze open source, di libero utilizzo ovunQue (scuole, pubbliche amministrazioni, uffici, ecc..) e da parte di chiunQue, i winPenPack ufficiali rientrano a pieno titolo nella categoria del Software Libero. Tuttavia, dal momento che le licenze open source si differenziano fra loro, ciascun software è regolato dalla rispettiva licenza. L'ambiente applicativo "winPenPack" nel suo insieme è regolato dalla GNU General Public License. E' distribuito nelle edizioni Flash Essential, Flash 1Gb, Flash School, Flash Web e Flash Game. winPenPack è l'insieme di software, documenti, files di inizializzazione e files xml perfettamente integrati fra loro in modo da formare un ambiente applicativo omogeneo. Ogni software è regolato dalla rispettiva licenza, i file di configurazione, xml e di documentazione realizzati dal Team di sviluppo sono rilasciati sotto GNU General Public License. The practical part consists of descriptions and demonstrations of procedures how to create Portable applications using various technologies.     IoStick Version 2017 (2.8) SI IoStick ist eine Sammlung von Programmen für den Informatikunterricht in der Schule. In Analogie zu den PortableApps sind alle Programme direkt vom USB -Stick lauffähig, eine Installation ist also nicht mehr erforderlich. Dies gilt insbesondere für das Java Development Kit, das direkt auf dem IoStick installiert ist und von den Java - Entwicklungsumgebungen genutzt werden kann. Installation Die Dateien des IoSticks müssen über das Entpackprogramm direkt in das Hauptverzeichnis eines beschreibbaren Datenträgers kopiert werden. Dieser Vorgang kann in Abhängigkeit von der Geschwindigkeit des USB-Sticks zwischen 30 und 300 Minuten in Anspruch nehmen! Die Verwendung einer tiefer liegenden Ordnerebene ist nur eingeschränkt und nach Anpassungen in den Programmen und dem Startmenü möglich. Anpassung/Erweiterung des Sticks Zurzeit benötigen die Dateien des Sticks ca. 3 GByte Speicherplatz. Sie können sich aber den Stick auch individuell anpassen. Die Anpassung des Startmenüs erfolgt durch Auswahl des grünen Symbols PStart und des ersten Eintrags „Fenster zeigen“. Der Stick lässt sich insbesondere durch die Verwendung der Applikationen von PortableApps.com oder WinPenPack.com problemlos erweitern. IoStick auf dem Server Die gesamte Ordnerstruktur des IoSticks kann auch auf einem Fileserver kopiert und dann von dort als eigenständiges Laufwerk den Schülern zur Verfügung gestellt werden. BlueGriffon wird von PStart mit der Option „-profile data“ gestartet, wobei data das relative Zielverzeichnis des Schülerordners angibt und entsprechend geändert werden muss. Benutzung der Applikationen Das Startmenü des Sticks wird durch das Programm PStart geladen und im Systembereich neben der Uhr einklinken. Das sichere Abmelden des Sticks sollte mit dem Menüeintrag „USB-Stick sicher auswerfen“ erfolgen.
