Historic Land Tour 1 Great Northern Depot 17 Wazyata Post Office For more than one-hundred years the Great Starts at Great Northern Depot Mail has been delivered in Wayzata ever since Northern Depot has served as Wayzata’s the community was founded in 1854. Until The Wayzata Historical Society is an all-volunteer, 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Wayzata’s history through the safekeeping of photographs and most iconic landmark. Built to help reconcile the early 1900s, however, the post office was relations after a long “feud” between personal accounts of events in the community’s past. Claude (Chuck) Winstead President Winstead Group Inc. Company concentrates on consulting with real estate owners on their development, renovation, construction and operations implementation. Past Senior Vice President, Development Cousins Chuck, who led Cousins' third party consulting and development team, has more than 35 years of experience in the development and construction of commercial, mixed-use and residential real estate projects. Chuck not only provides expert consultation on projects developed for commercial entities, but also for government/municipalities and nonprofit organizations. In addition, Chuck oversaw Cousins’ continued green development responsibility and the creation of LEED- certified projects. He arrived at Cousins in 2005 with its acquisition of The Gellerstedt Group, which concentrated on real estate development and consulting. Prior to that, Chuck served as group president for sports and commercial facilities for Beers/Skanska, an Atlanta-based construction company. While at Beers/Skanska, Chuck led the construction of a number of high-profile projects, including the Georgia Dome, Centennial Olympic Stadium, Turner Field, Philips Arena, Houston's Reliant Stadium and Nashville's Titan Stadium. He also handled a number of large residential and office projects at Beers/Skanska including Atlanta Federal Center Office, Federal Reserve Bank-Atlanta, Mayfair and The Pinnacle. Prior to joining Beers/Skanska in 1987, Chuck held positions with Trammell Crow Company, Atlanta- based Holder Construction and previously owned his own construction company. Project Highlights: • Development of Atlanta Federal Center Office, a downtown Atlanta high-rise office building valued at $160 million when it was completed more than one decade ago. -

Continuing our current effort to raise funding, a grant of $1,000.00 was given for ex-PTC Brill car Square Rail Museum on West Chester Pike in #8042 at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum. The grant is being delayed by FPT until the late Newtown Square. Although Car #23 will be a summer. At this time, the annual Washington static display and not actually operate, FPT County Matching Grant program will made an exception in the case in giving this commences, thus allowing the grant amount to grant because another $500.00 grant was given be matched. If you would like to help increase the amount of the grant, please use the attached donation form for 8042. Help to get this wonderful old Brill Peter Witt car back in service at PTM. A grant of $500.00 was awarded on behalf of Red Arrow “St. Louie” #23 now at the Newtown to Brilliner #8 now at Shore Line Trolley Museum (Branford, Connecticut). There are several Red Arrow cars at Branford, but #8 is probably closest to operating condition. And finally, another $500.00 was awarded to the seat renewal project for Philadelphia Transportation Company’s PCC #2743 at the Rockhill Trolley Museum. All the refurbished seats have been returned to the car and are awaiting installation. This last grant will help pay the final bills on the project. -

This joint conference of the Midwest Archaeological Conference and the Southeastern Archaeological Conference marks the second time that these two prestigious organizations have joined together. The first was ten years ago in Lexington, Kentucky and from all accounts a tremendous success. Having the two groups meet in St. Louis is a first for both groups in the 50 years that the Midwest Conference has been in existence and the 61 years that the Southeastern Archaeological Conference has met since its inaugural meeting in 1938. St. Louis hosted the first Midwestern Conference on Archaeology sponsored by the National Research Council’s Committee on State Archaeological Survey 75 years ago. Parts of the conference were broadcast across the airwaves of KMOX radio, thus reaching a larger audience. Since then St. Louis has been host to two Society for American Archaeology conferences in 1976 and 1993 as well as the Society for Historical Archaeology’s conference in 2004. When we proposed this joint conference three years ago we felt it would serve to again bring people together throughout most of the mid-continent. -

Thanks to tremendous volunteer commitment as well as a substantial material donation, this historic train has been returned to operable condition 50 years after it was rebuilt into its Liberty Liner configuration. Now, the challenge is to further improve its reliability and make it look beautiful again. Will you help us ensure that an example of each of these trains is beautifully preserved, in operable condition, in both Electroliner and Liberty Liner configurations?
