ADVENTURE Enter a volcano, climb a glacier, snorkel between continents and ride an Icelandic horse. Iceland offers an adventure for any nature lover. WELNESS The spa is a modern-day invention but enjoying the various health benefits of bathing in thermal baths is an Icelandic tradition dating back to the settlement. FOOD & CUISINE Iceland is blessed with an abundance of fresh water, clean nature and fertile fishing grounds, while geothermal energy makes it possible to supply a year-round offering of fresh vegetables, grown locally in greenhouses. CREATIVITY Creativity is part of our national identity. One out of ten Icelanders will publish a book during their lifetime; and we have a vibrant music and film scene. CLEAN SOURCE OF ENERGY Geothermal is a way of life in Iceland. This is the naturally heated water that powers our lives and heats our homes, baths and pools. QUALITY, ENVIRONMENT & SAFETY IS IMPORTANT TO ICELANDIC TOURISM The official source for safe adventure in Iceland VAKINN The quality and environmental certification for Icelandic tourism One of the key aspects of sustainable and responsible tourism is to inform visitors about Iceland’s fragile nature and considerate travel behavior This has been the key focus of our campaign work www.inspiredbyiceland.com THE ICELANDIC PLEDGE Iceland is the first country ever to initiate an agreement with tourists in bid to positively affect behavior change, aiming to create an army of people who know how to stay safe and look after the delicate land. The Icelandic Pledge is an online agreement that invites travelers to sign up to be a responsible tourist when visiting the country. ICELANDIC ACADEMY This is an exciting online tool to help visitors understand the best of Icelandic culture and etiquette, how to stay safe on their travels, as well as its beautiful nature. Iceland Academy’s classes are open to everyone via the Inspired By Iceland website. Viewers are invited to attend each class and encouraged to complete each term, after which they will receive a special badge. KRANAVATN CHALLENGE In an attempt to encourage visitors to behave more responsibly, Inspired by Iceland has launched the world’s first premium tap water brand, Kranavatn. Visitors can pledge to make Kranavatn, Icelandic for tap water, their drink of choice in Iceland. /inspiredbyiceland /icelandinspired # icelandsecret WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEE YOU IN ICELAND THANK YOU!.
