On inspirational walks through hills, woodland and coastal villages we will discover why these areas have earned names such as the Gulf of the Poets. Many of the country’s most iconic trails are situated in the region of Liguria and this trip makes a great introduction to Italy with its ample opportunities for walking, relaxing and sampling delicious food and wine. Activity level: 3 (Moderate) The walks on this trip are graded moderate. Although some walks will get your pulse racing we will also have plenty of time to rest, admire the views and on many days we can also enjoy swim breaks! Over the course of the week, the terrain and type of path will vary between manmade paved tracks/tarmac, uneven, rocky and steep steps, and forest trails. Some areas may be rocky underfoot with narrow, overgrown or exposed paths. Although the walks are not technically challenging, you do need to be steady on your feet. All walks take between 4 and 6 hours including lunch stops and require a moderate to high level of tness as some parts of the walks can be particularly strenuous. On a couple of days, there are sections with a considerable number of steps (more than 500), which make the walks unsuitable for those with knees problems. Please be aware that path openings are inuenced by safety reasons, along with weather conditions and this may affect the itinerary planned. Please note that neither the hotel nor the restaurants in Moneglia are able to cater for people with severe coeliac disease. Following a review of all our trips we have categorised this trip as generally not suitable for persons of reduced mobility. However if you are a regular traveller on such trips, please contact customer services to discuss the trip and your personal condition. Adult min age: 16 Min group size: 5 Max group size: 15 Itinerary Land Only y g Start City: Moneglia End City: Moneglia Land Only Itinerary Day 1 Start Moneglia We begin in the charming seaside town of Moneglia. Beautifully located in the heart of a bay on the Mediterranean sea, the picture-postcard town is listed since 2012 on the 'I Borghi Più Belli d'Italia' (Most Beautiful Villages of Italy) and has been awarded the European Blue Flag every year since 1990, for its clear waters and the quality of the services offered. Meals included: Dinner Day 2 Follow the coastal trail between Deiva Marina and the villages of Framura and Bonassola In the morning we take a short train to Deiva Marina and start our walk through holm oak forests and maquis shrubland. The walk begins with a relatively steep path, climbing up to picturesque woods of pine and strawberry trees. Our efforts will be rewarded at the top of the hill with stunning panoramic views of the coastline and the Promontory of Portono. We will then take an ondulating trail that offers beautiful views over the Ligurian Sea and leads to the village of Framura, where we stop for lunch. After the refreshments, we descend by steps almost to sea level then meander through woods until a nal steep climb for magnicent views of the sea. We then head to the pretty village of Bonassola before taking the train back to our hotel in Moneglia. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch Distance covered: 13 km / 8 miles Altitude gain (m): 766 Altitude loss (m): 798 Day 3 Take the train to Cinque Terre N.P; walk the stunning paths to some of Liguria's prettiest villages Today we will set out to visit the spectacular Cinque Terre (Five Lands), one of Italy's most beautiful 'works of art', declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997 and part of the Cinque Terre National Park. The best way to explore these charming villages is on foot, and today we will walk on the famous Sentiero Azzurro Ligure (Ligurian Blue Path), which connects the ve villages. Today we will visit three of the ve, namely Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso, and we will pass along old mule tracks, walking through terraced vineyards and olive groves. After completing some steep and rocky sections, we will be rewarded with wonderful views of the colourful villages, built into the rocks facing the sea. Please note that some sections of the path may be closed so we may need to take the train between villages or change the itinerary accordingly. At the end of the walk, we catch the train back to Moneglia where there will be time to relax or go for a swim before dinner. Meals included: Breakfast Distance covered: 10 km / 6 miles Altitude gain (m): 666 Altitude loss (m): 711 Day 4 Walk on the Portono promontory and explore the world-renowned shing village of Portono itself This morning we will set out by train to Santa Margherita Ligure, a charming coastal town, where we will begin our hike to the shing village of Portono. Famous for its pastel-coloured houses and picturesque harbour, the town is now attracting celebrities from all over the world. Meals included: Breakfast Distance covered: 13 km / 8 miles Altitude gain (m): 591 Altitude loss (m): 606 Day 5 Free day to relax, take optional walks, try kayaking or visit nearby Portovenere or Genova Today you will enjoy a well-earned break and perhaps spend your day relaxing at the beach. Those with more energy might like to use the opportunity for some sightseeing. Genoa, the region’s capital city, home of Christopher Columbus and the largest aquarium in Europe is not be missed. Alternatively, you could spend some time in the near town of Porto Venere, referred to being one of the stops in the "Bay of Poets" or use the day to visit the beautiful town of Lucca, located further away. Meals included: Breakfast Day 6 Transfer to Rapallo by train, take the cable car up Montallegro for fantastic views and walk down to Chiavari, afternoon wine tasting This morning we will take a short train ride to Rapallo and the cable car up to the sanctuary of Montallegro (600 mt). From here we will set out on a walk through quiet woodland, catching glimpses of the Ligurian sea en route to the seaside town of Chiavari. In the early evening we will have the chance to enjoy the local speciality at our well-deserved wine tasting! Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch Distance covered: 11 km / 7 miles Altitude gain (m): 180 Altitude loss (m): 775 Day 7 Return to the Cinque Terre area for an alternative walk through glorious coastline and colourful villages This morning we will head back to the famous Cinque Terre to walk some of the quieter, alternative trails. The exact path you will walk will depend on local track conditions, but they are generally on higher ground than the classic Sentiero Azzuro, so offer even more spectacular views of the coastline and villages. Meals included: Breakfast Distance covered: 8 km / 5 miles Day 8 End Moneglia Our trip ends in Moneglia, after breakfast. Please note that different GPS measuring devices can give differing results dependent on the barometric pressures at the time. Measurements stated throughout these trips notes are given to help you understand the types of terrain and distances you will encounter. Accommodation Hotels Piccolo Hotel *** This family-run hotel is ideally located a few metres from the seafront, and the bars and restaurants of the pretty town. All rooms are en suite and facilities include an indoor pool, sun terrace with jacuzzi, and restaurant. Wi-Fi is available in the rooms. A limited number of double rooms for sole use are available for a supplement, please enquire for details. Where a single supplement is available, paying for a single will only guarantee a room for single use. It does not necessarily mean a twin or double room will be provided for sole occupancy. Please note that a member of the group may be allocated a single room by default if the make-up of the group means there isn’t anyone for them to share with. (linea Genova – La Spezia). In auto si esce a Sestri L. (casello A12). Con la tappa in questione abbandoniamo la parte più antropizzata della Riviera di Levante per affrontare quella più selvaggia ed affascinante, fatta di promontori che si allungano verso il mare, che il sentiero in questione attraversa nei tratti più panoramici. Meno celebri delle Cinque Terre e del promontorio di Portofino, questa zona è comunque battuta da migliaia di escursionisti ogni anno. Il primo promontorio affrontato dal Verdeazzurro è quello di Punta Manara, una sorta di isola rocciosa staccata dall’Appennino Ligure, divisa dai torrenti Petronio e Gromolo. Saliamo a Punta Manara, vero e proprio balcone panoramico sul mare, e scendiamo in direzione di Riva, frazione di Sestri L. nota per la presenza dei cantieri navali. Aggirati quest’ultimi si prosegue per Moneglia, passando per Punta Baffe, altro stupendo promontorio a picco sul mare. Partiamo dal centro di Sestri L., dove troviamo la via pedonale interna ricca di negozi che porta il nome di Via 25 Aprile. A metà strada troviamo in direzione est un vicoletto con arco (Vico del Bottone), e subito a sinistra prendiamo Salita Mandrella, dove troviamo una freccia in ceramica che indica “Punta Manara”. Inizia qui il percorso escursionistico segnalato con due quadrati rossi, che ci seguiranno fedeli fino a Punta Manara.

    1 Canoni demaniali, la Regione pubblica le cifre: ecco quanto paga ogni stabilimento per la concessione di Redazione 12 Novembre 2013 – 17:48 Genova. L’assessore Gabriele Cascino tira dritto sulla sua decisione di aumentare la tassa di concessione regionale per gli stabilimenti balneari e lofa prima rispondendo alle critiche e poi rendendo pubblici gli importi versati da tutti gli stabilimenti liguri nel 2013. La Regione ha voluto anche far notare la differenza di quanto pagano direttamente allo Stato gli stabilimenti “incamerati”, ovvero quelli i cui immobili sono diventati di proprietà dello Stato, rispetto gli altri. Per quanto riguarda la provincia di Genova, per fare qualche esempio, le cifre più alte quelle dei Bagni Marina Grande di Arenzano, con 25 mila euro, o i Nuovo Lido sempre di Arenzano, con poco meno di 15 mila. Poi ci sono i Lido Blu di Chiavari, che versano 15.584 euro. Queste strutture vedranno il canone praticamente raddoppiato, ma pagano molto meno rispetto ad alcune aziende che hanno sede su stabilimenti “incamerati”, come ad esempio i Bagni di Lido di Genova (uno degli stabilimenti più antichi d’Europa), che paga 34 mila euro di canone, i Bagni Italia di Sanremo, che per una concessione di 3.648 mq pagano poco meno di 30 mila euro, oppure i Bagni Rosa di Santa Margherita, che versano per 856 Genova24.it - 1 / 11 - 01.10.2021 2 mq poco più di 10 mila euro.
