POST DIVE TRIP BLUES

You’ve rinsed your gear for the last time. Your is dry and ready to be packed and it’s time to make your way back to the airport. I am sure you know a little too well this nostalgic feeling of having to go back to work after having the underwater time of your life.

In the meantime, as you are working to save money for your next diving trip, how can you beat the post-scuba diving vacation blues? Here are some tips to keep your mind in the scuba diving mood during these too long sur- face intervals.

Start searching right away for your next scuba diving destination With all the exciting scuba diving adventures available all over the world, it is not always easy to pick one that both fit your skills and budget. Once you select the one you need to research the best dive sites, best scuba diving centers, and best time of the year to visit. Ask fellow divers, buy new books, and consult scuba diving blogs to compare ideas and experiences. Or you can just let Amber Waves Diving do all that work for you. We have two great trips coming up in the summer of 2019 and the fall of 2019. In June we are headed to for a 5 night 4 days of diving trip to a wonderful “all inclusive” resort; Sunscape Saba. Then in November we are trekking to Roatan for a 7 nights with 5 days of 3 dives per day diving to the Mayan Princess resort. This is a luxury resort that offers great food and premium drinks and, of course, it’s all inclusive.

Sign up to a scuba diving class or just jump into the pool with us to refresh your skills or just blow bubbles During the cold months we offer Enriched Air and Equipment courses all most every weekend. Of course you are always invited to come and play with us in the pool on any Saturday afternoon. You can take a refresher course and get help on skills that you want to improve like and mask skills.

Take your gear for its annual maintenance and look for potential upgrades I learned it the hard way but don’t delay in the maintenance of your regulator or change of battery of your . We have a 7-10 day turnaround on service and can put a rush on items if you are in a hurry. When you pay a visit to our dive shop for the maintenance of your gear, this is also a perfect opportunity to check potential upgrades of your equipment based on the experience of your latest diving trip. We only hire divers to work our retail floor and they are all well versed on the latest and greatest dive gear.

Sort and edit the pictures and videos of your latest trip Now with digital cameras, it is a little bit too easy to take thousands of images in only a couple of days. It can easily take hours to choose the best ones and do the little edits they need for the extra wow effect. If you need help we will help you understand how to edit your underwater photos. Why not create your own blog or video channel to share your experiences with other divers looking for feedback about the destination you just visited?

If your surface intervals between scuba diving vacations are still too long and too hard, you should give a try to diving locally with us at Beaver Lake. We start our ‘lake dive season’ April 19-21. Have you ever considered becoming a diver or becoming a PADI professional; a dive master or scuba ? We are an Instructor Development Center and are looking for more profes- sionals to join are team or to just help the industry grow.
