1. The first power I found greater than myself was John Barleycorn. 2. The A.A. Fellowship became my for the first two years. 3. Gradually, I came to believe that God and Good were synonymous and were found in all of us. 4. And I found that by meditating and trying to tune in on my better self for guidance and answers, I became more comfortable and steady.

A Letter from Delegate Bill W First off, a big round of applause to everyone who attended our Area Inventory Day in January! We begin each year by taking our own inventory – not always the most popular thing to do! – but I believe it keeps Area 48 on track in our efforts to carry the message. We had a good crowd and an enthusiastic one, too. Next up on our Service Calendar is NERAASA in Framingham, MA, and I look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible. Believe me, if you have never been to a NERAASA it is worth it! Please, do try to attend. I encourage each Home Group to consider sponsoring your GSR to go to this, mine does, and that is the way it was designed. It is a long weekend, a busy one, a tiring one, but I promise you that you will leave energized. Following NERAASA I will be going to Connecticut for NERD – a special pre- Conference gathering for the Delegates from the Northeast, where we meet and continue to discuss the issues that we will be voting on at Conference. OF all the Areas, the Northeast is perhaps the most cohesive, largely because we really do get together, get to know the issues, learn what each of our Areas thinks about the issues, and discuss them together. It is a great experience and I am truly grateful for the opportunity that you afford me to be there. Following NERAASA we will have our Delegate’s Day of Sharing – where you give me your feedback on the issues that will be coming up at Conference. Each of the Area Chairs of committees that are represented at Conference will direct the discussions at their respective tables, so I think this will be a very, very good day of sharing and learning. I want to encourage each of you to start to think about your future role in service. In A.A.’s Legacy of Service (http://www.aa.org/lang/en/catalog.cfm?origpage=203&product=62), Bill W. states it quite well, as usual: “Our Twelfth Step – carrying the message – is the basic service that the A.A. Fellowship gives; this is our principle aim and the main reason for our existence.” (Emphasis added) If you are not sure what your next step in service should be, talk with your service sponsor. If you don’t have a service sponsor – please, get one. Choose someone in service who seems to be happy and talk with her or him. If you still have questions, talk with me. As always, if you have any questions, issues, or AA problems, please feel free to get in touch with me. If you would like me to come to your District, just ask. I look forward to hearing from you! In Fellowship and In Service, Bill W, Delegate Panel 66, Area 48 HMB
