It is for the fourth time already that music students and professors are meeting in Pristina not only to master their skills but also to enrich the spirit of the audience. Pierre Weber Chargé d’affaires a.i. Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to the Republic of Kosovo 08 \ 09 Dear music lovers,

We all know that music is like a ladder that allows our spirits to climb up to higher realms. In order for this magic to happen, however, a musician will have to sacrifice unnumbered hours of hard work, practice and sheer search, until he or she will indeed be able to uplift our souls! Beethoven’s words come to mind here: “Don’t only practice your art, but force your way into its secrets, for it and knowledge can raise men to the divine.”

It is my sincere hope that ESMA advice.Appreciation is also due to will enable many young talents to the many other actors that have progress on this path, with the help made ESMA possible again: the and under the guidance of a select EU Office in Kosovo; the Faculty group of professional musicians, who of Arts; the Kosovo Philharmonics; will make up this year’s faculty. the Red Hall; the National Theatre; the Embassies of Austria, France, This summer will be ESMA’s Hungary, the Netherlands, Norway, fourth edition, and by now it has and Switzerland; the Liaison Office of established itself as one of the Romania; UNMIK; the Yunus Emre well-loved traditions in the musical Institute; Misbah & friends; and the scene of Kosovo.
