Dear Leader McCarthy:
On behalf of the Associated General Contractors of New York State (AGC NYS), I strongly urge the appointment of Representative-elect Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11) to the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure (T&I Committee).
AGC NYS is the leading statewide trade association for New York’s construction industry representing union and open shop businesses and is the New York State Chapter of AGC of America. AGC NYS represents more than 500 contractor, subcontractor, and related firms including some of the largest construction companies in the United States.
New York State’s vast transportation and infrastructure network is a combination of the largest mass transportation system in the United States, highly traveled roads and bridges, major and regional airports, Amtrak, waterways, ports and is a key driver of the economy serving as hub for domestic and international trade and travel. As a member of the New York State Assembly and former New York City mayoral candidate, Representative-elect Malliotakis has policy and budgetary experience that uniquely qualifies her to serve as a member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
In the 117th Congress, Representative-elect Malliotakis, would be a strong voice for House Republicans and an important ally for T&I Committee Ranking Member Sam Graves. As the lone House Republican in New York City, Ms. Malliotakis’ perspective is critical as President-elect Biden and Congress seek solutions to the overdue long-term reauthorization of programs to fix our roads, bridges, mass transportation, ports, waterways, flood control and water resources.

On a personal level, Ms. Malliotakis is a former colleague of mine from the Administration of former New York State Governor George E. Pataki. We worked closely together and I know well her ability and commitment to public service. She will be an outstanding addition to your conference and would be to the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee as well.
Once again, I strongly urge you to appoint Representative-elect Nicole Malliotakis to the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
