Kompositör: Kent Olofsson Noli me Tangere är ett verk för sju sångare, sju skåDespelare och förinspelat material och kan ses som en samtiDa kommentar till Orlando di Lassos Lagrime di San Pietro (Petrus tårar). En Del av det musikaliska materialet bygger också på di Lassos verk och De båda verken kan också framföras tillsammans så som viD uruppförandet i april 2012. Noli me Tangere beskriver Den unga kvinnan Maria, hon som kallaDes synderska i brist på fullkomlighet, och som stod ensam vid Jesu siDa, men Det är också berättelsen om Den anDra Maria, hon som säljs för att män ska kunna köpa hennes kropp. Genom Denna Dubbelexponering blir vi alla båDe vår egen Petrus och vår egen JuDas som förråder våra närmaste och sedan vänder bort vår blick och förnekar det vi ser när vi står inför en människas liDanDe. Det är ett verk om människans skulD och ett sätt att köpslå meD liv som inte har föränDrats genom historien. Noli me tangere (latin 'rör inte viD mig') är De orD som Jesus enligt Johannesevangeliet 20:14-17 yttrade till Maria MagDalena, Då han efter sin uppståndelse uppenbaraDe sig för henne utanför graven Där hon stoD och grät. Även mötet i sig benämns Noli me tangere. "Rör inte viD mig, jag har ännu inte stigit upp till min faDer. Gå till mina bröDer och säg Dem att jag stiger upp till min faDer och er fader, min Gud och er Gud." Noli me tangere är ett av flera samarbeten mellan Dramatikern Jörgen Dahlqvist, konstnärlig ledare för Teatr Weimar och tonsättaren Kent Olofsson. Från 2012 har tematiken ofta varit centrerat kring filosofiska och etiska frågor kring Det moDerna Europas migrationspolitik. - - - - - - - Noli Me Tangere is a work for seven singers, seven actors and pre-recordeD material anD can be seen as a contemporary commentary on OrlanDo Di Lasso Lagrime di San Pietro (Saint Peter’s tears). Some of the musical material is also baseD on di Lasso’s work anD the two works may also be presenteD together as at the first performance in April 2012. Noli Me Tangere describes the young woman Maria, she who is calleD sinner for her lack of perfection, and who stood alone at the side of Jesus. But it is also the story of the other Mary, she who is solD so that men can buy her body. Through this double exposure we all become our own Peter anD our own JuDas who betrays our closest anD then turn away anD Deny what we see when we are faceD with a person's suffering. It is a work about human guilt and the way to bargain with life that has not changeD throughout history. Noli Me Tangere (Latin: 'do not touch me') are the worDs that Jesus accorDing to the Gospel of John (20: 14-17) uttereD to Mary MagDalene, when, after his resurrection, appeareD to her outside the tomb where she stooD anD crieD. Also the meeting itself is calleD Noli me tangere. "Do not touch me, I have not yet ascenDeD to my Father. Go to my brothers anD tell them, I am ascenDing to my Father anD your Father, to my God anD your God. " Noli Me Tangere is one of several collaborations between playwright Jörgen Dahlqvist, artistic director of Teatr Weimar and composer Kent Olofsson. From 2012, the themes have often been centreD on philosophical anD ethical issues surrounDing the migration policy of the moDern European. Performance notes: Noli me tangere is scoreD for three female actors, four male actors, seven singers: two sopranos, two altos, tenor, baritone and bass. The stage positions should be in a half circle from left to right: Female actors 1-3, Sopranos 1-2, Altos 1-2, Tenor, Barytone, Bass, Male actors 1-4. The voices can be amplifieD if neeDeD. The seven loudspeakers should be placed in a half circle, if possible partly surrounding the audience. The pre-recorDeD sounDs, voices anD electroacoustic material, are playeD back from a Max/MSP-patch, triggered as indicated in the score. An 8-channel sound interface is required for playback, each speaker has it’s own output channel.     Jose Rizal by: Marilou Diaz Abaya Film Review First, this movie is rated SPG. There are graphic depictions of violence and even torture. The opening few scenes depict some episodes from Rizal's novels. In one a Catholic priest rapes a Filipina. I guess I now know where the Mestizo (i.e., mixed blood) class came from in the Philippines. In the other scene a Catholic priest beats a child for alleged stealing. Strong thing, and it made me wonder how the Catholic Church could possibly retain any power in the country, if this is what the national hero thought about it. The movie tells the life story of Jose Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines. It covers his life from his childhood to his execution at the hands of the Spanish forces occupying the Philippines in the late 19th century. We are also thrown into the world of Rizal's novels (filmed in black and white), so we get a glimpse of how he viewed Filipino society under the Spanish heal. The movie introduces us to the life of subjugation of the Filipino people under the rule of the Spanish friars. From the execution of three Filipino priests in 1872 for alleged subversion to the harsh and unequal treatment of Filipino students in the schools, this film is a flashing indictment of Spanish colonial rule in the Philippines. We see scenes both from Rizal's actual life but also from his imagination The movie focuses on the condition of the society and also to the government at the time of the Spanish Colonization.

    Questioning the Status of Rizal's Women in Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo Paulette M. Coulter University of Guam Abstract To an arguable extent, the novels of José Maria Rizal are European novels of the Belle Epoque, despite their setting., and, as such, they reflect the attitude toward women current in Europe in that era. In his novels Rizal’s female characters appear more as stereotypes than archetypes in several broad categories: the good mother (Narcisa), the virgin (Maria Clara, Juli, possibly Paulita Gomez), the harridan (the commandant's wife), the social or religious fanatic (Doña Victorina and Doña Patroncino), for example. In nearly every case in the novels and in his "Letter to the Women of Malolos," however, the individual woman is an exaggeration of an already exaggerated conception of womanhood, with its origins in the work of the Spanish friars. To an arguable extent, the novels of José Maria Rizal are European novels of the Belle Epoque, the golden age at the end of nineteenth century in Europe although their setting is the Philippines, and, as a result, they reflect the attitude toward women current in Europe in that era. Rizal was influenced by both the French novelists Alexandre Dumas, père, and Émile Zola as well as by the European high culture of his time, and his novels rank with theirs in terms of the large numbers of characters, detailed descriptions of the minutiae of everyday life, and complexity of interrelationships of characters in carrying out the plot. Rizal's novels also reflect the ideas of his times on the status and development of women.

Castroverde 2013 Abstract This dissertation is a preliminary attempt to define and theorize Spanish literature of the late nineteenth century from the perspective of the colonized. I take as my starting point the novels of the Filipino writer José Rizal: Noli me tángere and El filibusterismo. Although these novels are considered to be the foundational texts of the Philippine nation, I will instead focus on their relationship to Spain and the literature produced there around the same period. This analysis will be contrasted with a reading of Benito Pérez Galdós’s novel Doña Perfecta, which, as many critics have claimed, bears a resemblance to Rizal’s first novel. I will show how Galdós’s novel demonstrates a colonizing mentality despite being nominally about an internal Spanish conflict.
