Dazu gehört eine Messingachslagerung, ein zweiter Magnet, ein neues Übersetzungsverhältnis und ein stärkerer Motor. Mit dem modularen RMS, bestehend aus den kombinierbaren Units "Main Unit A", "Extension Unit B" und "PC Unit C", kann sowohl im heimischen Wohnzimmer als auch auf einer achtspurigen Clubbahn die Zeit bis auf die 1/1000 Sekunde gemessen und mittels Computer festgehalten werden. Die sogenannte Ghostcarfunktion der Main Unit bietet dabei vielen Fahrern auf der eigenen Teststrecke eine realistische Übungsmöglichkeit gegen einen Computer-gesteuerten Gegner. Die Jubiläumspackung mit den klassischen Modellen Porsche 911 RSR Turbo und Porsche 935 ist ein echtes Geschenk für alle Carrera Fans. Mit einer Streckenlänge von 8,30 m ist das "Classic Race Set" die größte, in Deutschland erhältliche, Evolution Bahn. Ein kostenloser Rundenzähler mit überarbeiteten Features rundet das Paket ab. Als Ergänzung gibt es dann noch zwei weitere Porsche Einzelfahrzeuge in den beliebten Martini und Jägermeister Designs. Ein wichtiges Thema: die neuen Ferrari Modelle F2002, Enzo und Uovo. Mit den F1 Modellen der Scuderia Ferrari rundet Carrera die Palette an erfolgreichen Formel1 Teams, durch das Auto des Weltmeisters von 2002, Michael Schumacher und seines Kollegen Rubens Barrichello, ab. Der Ferrari Enzo ist mit seinen beeindruckenden technischen Daten und einer gelungenen Umsetzung in das Format 1/32 bestimmt Stammgast auf vielen Carrerabahnen. Der Uovo, wie der Ferrari 166/212 gerne genannt wird, ist allein durch seine Form ein echter Eyecatcher. Aber auch Details wie das Reserverad in der Heckablage tragen zum Gesamtbild bei. Zum Schluß fällt die geballte Ladung an amerikanischen Modellen ins Auge. Mittlerweile entfällt 1/3 der angebotenen Fahrzeuge in diesen Bereich. Ein Beweis dafür, daß Carrera erfolgreich den amerikanischen Markt bedient. Dies unterstreicht Carrera noch durch Starter Sets, die ausschließlich auf dem amerikanische Markt erhältlich sind. Auch für das nächste Jahr sind hier schöne Varianten und neue Modelle zu erwarten. Allein der Start des angekündigten PRO-X Systems wird auf 2004 verschoben, damit ein technisch ausgereiftes Produkt den Kunden erreicht.
