Description: Into the Woods Alaska is offering hiking, camping and expedition programs for youth ages 12-18. Daily hiking trips will offer workshops for youth to gain new backcountry skill sets, while camping/expedition trips will guide youth toward self-sufficiency and a set of wilderness safety skills that will last a lifetime. For camping, we will provide each kid with their own bivvy sack, making it easy to social distance and have privacy, while keeping the bugs out. We will plan the logistics, food and supplies needed for our trips, but these trips will be all about getting kids to do things for themselves. Youth participants will level up their Alaska outdoor skills, dive into environmental science and build friendships, teamwork and self-sufficiency. 100% outdoors, 100% authentically Alaskan, place-based outdoor and environmental education through experiential, hands-on learning. ALASKA CHILDREN’S CHOIR MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP (ANCHORAGE)

Description: Come enjoy a week-long introduction into musical theatre! Students will meet daily from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. They will prepare a short production throughout the week, learning skills including singing, acting and creating stage props for the set. The week will culminate in a single performance of their musical theatre production on Friday evening. Pending enough enrollment, we will be performing “Tom Sawyer: the Musical.” The recommended ages are 7-16. The cost is $175 per student, and parents will also be responsible for providing a simple costume for their child, or material so the student can make their own costume. Discounts are available for multiple children in a family.

Description: Build strength, flexibility and body awareness in these four Acro clinics designed to immerse students in acrobatic and tumbling skills, including head and handstands, front and back walkovers and handsprings, and cartwheels, aerials and shoulder rolls. Dancers will learn how to properly align their bodies to safely execute postures, tricks and performative acro skills. These 1.5 hour long classes run every Monday in June from 5-6:30 p.m. Dancers should wear gymnastics or dance dance with bare feet. Bring a water bottle!
