Research Interests

I am broadly interested in quantum many-body physics, quantum information and emergent phenomena. A guiding theme in my work has been quantum system design, where theoretical physics is used to blueprint and engineer exotic properties in simple, experimentally realizable systems. These blueprints have included quantum simulation architectures for the bosonic fractional quantum Hall effect, relativistic quantum electrodynamics, and topological quantum computing. I have extensively studied a diverse array of phenomena including quantum magnetism, unconventional superconductivity, relativistic field theories, quantum phase transitions, low- dimensional physics, optical lattices, quantum information and topological quantum computing. Additionally, I have significant connections to experimental physics, and have recently collaborated on neutron scattering studies of frustrated magnetism and on superconducting device designs.
