  • Some Actual Aspects About the Tourism Accomodation in Harghita County
GeoJournal of Tourism and Geosites Year VII, no. 2, vol. 14, November 2014, p.158-167 ISSN 2065-0817, E-ISSN 2065-1198 Article no. 14106-162 SOME ACTUAL ASPECTS ABOUT THE TOURISM ACCOMODATION IN HARGHITA COUNTY George-Bogdan TOFAN* “Babeş-Bolyai” University, Faculty of Geography, Cluj-Napoca, 5-7 Clinicilor Street, 40006, Romania, e-mail: [email protected] Adrian NIŢĂ “Babeş-Bolyai” University, Faculty of Geography, Gheorgheni Branch, Romania, e-mail: [email protected] Abstract: The aim of the study is to synthetically present the tendencies of one of the most important elements of the tourism, the accommodation, within Harghita County. Analyzed for more than two decades, quantitatively it presents an evolution with different positive and negative rates. By categories, the tourist villas dominate at the beginning of the ’90s, especially in the tourist resorts of the county (Borsec, Lacu Roşu, Izvoru Mureşului, Harghita-Băi, Băile Tuşnad, Băile Homorod). Later the situation changed for newer categories, existing and functioning on private initiatives (tourist pensions, agritourist pensions, bungalows), plus for some of the classic categories, the tourist chalet, adapted for the mountain tourism, the hotel, present especially in urban settlements and several resorts (Miercurea-Ciuc, Gheorgheni, Odorheiu Secuiesc, Topliţa, Băile Tuşnad, Harghita-Băi, Borsec), the motel and the tourist stop, specific to the automobile travel. Key words: accommodation, comfort degree, villas, tourist pensions, Harghita * * * * * * INTRODUCTION Aspects about the evolution of the accommodation in Harghita County were presented before in several studies approaching the geographic domain at national level (Geografia României, Geografia Umană şi Economică, 1984), at county level (the Romanian Academy series about the Romanian Counties, Judeţul Harghita, Pişotă, Iancu, Bugă, 1976; Judeţul Harghita, Cocean et al., 2013) or in some doctoral theses regarding the mountain depressions (Şeer, 2004, Mara, 2008, Tofan, 2013).

In order to investigate the precipitation chemistry, studies were carried out from January 2013 to December 2013 in Odorheiu Secuiesc and Miercurea Ciuc, Eastern Carpathians, Romania. During a period of eleven years (2006 – 2016), 2013 was the driest year. The rainwater samples were analyzed − for pH, major anions and cations. HCO3 concentrations were calculated based – + 2+ 2− on the empirical relationship between pH and HCO3 . NH4 , Ca , SO4 were the dominant ions in precipitation at both sites. The pH values varied from 6.75 to 7.46 Miercurea Ciuc, and from 6.69 to 7.67 in Odorheiu Secuiesc. The 2+ + neutralization was mainly brought by Ca and NH4 . Estimated ratios of sea- salt fraction (SSF), non-sea-salt fraction (NSSF), and results from Spearman’s rank correlation and Principal Component Analysis (PCA), showed that the 2− − + acidic ions (SO4 , NO3 ) were derived from anthropogenic activities, NH4 from soil fertilization, while Ca2+, Mg2+, K+ originated from terrestrial source. These influence the precipitations ionic content, especially during droughts. Spatial variations and the rim effect of the Eastern Carpathians on

Geographia Technica, Vol. 14, Issue 2, 2019, pp 49 to 59 A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS THROUGH TIME AND SPACE OF CENTRALITY’S ROLE IN COUNTY CENTERS’ SPATIAL POSITION FOR SEVERAL COUNTIES IN ROMANIA Zsolt MAGYARI-SÁSKA1 DOI : 10.21163/GT_2019.142.05 ABSTRACT : The aim of the study was to measure the importance of county centers in terms of central positioning and accessibility. The actual county centers have been chosen not only based on their central position but also based on other reasons such as their cultural, traditional and especially historical importance. With all these through time they should enforce their central position also in terms of accessibility – as some administration procedures can be managed just in these cities – and to became truly the centers of their counties. We want to check if the actual county centers fulfill these considerations, how strong is these fulfillments and in case of failure which cities could take their places. We also made some comparisons with former administrative organizations at the beginning of the 20th century before car traffic appeared. Key-words: network modeling, weighted network, closeness centrality, eigenvector centrality, ranking 1. INTRODUCTION The actual county centers have been chosen not only based on their central position but also based on other reasons such as their cultural, traditional and especially historical importance. With all these through time they should enforce their central position also in terms of accessibility – as some administration procedures can be managed just in these cities – and to became truly the centers of their counties. Through history the border of middle level administrative entities has changed but in many cases the same cities remained as county centers for the newly created or modified administrative entities.

The Youth Association from Transylvania recognizes the need of the local and regional community to have young people coming from other countries, who can contribute to developing the potential of the area from a cultural, social and economical standpoint. The role of the volunteers within our organisation will be to act as support person and as execution agent to the activities and initiatives that already exist in the community or our NGO. They will have to bring their own motivation and plans in order to fill in the frame of these actions with meaningful, efficient content. The way the EVS activity of each volunteer is constructed as follows: they will have to allocate 60-70% of their time and activity, to work on this main activity. 20% of the time, their task will be to do common activities with the other volunteers, activities which are done around the yearly community traditions, events, happenings and holidays of the community. 10% of their time will be spent to create and do visibility materials and promotion activities for the NGO and especially for their own EVS activity. The venues of their activities will be in Cristuru Secuiesc and a few of the activities may also be implemented in Odorheiu Secuiesc and Sighișoara . In this context, here are the 8 different types of main activities we propose for the volunteers: 1.
