Sytner Warranty provides an extensive level of protection – please refer to the ‘What is Covered’ section on page 6. What’s Not Covered? Consumable items such as brake pads or discs, tyres, oils and fluids, batteries and exhausts aren’t covered by Sytner Warranty – please refer to the ‘What is Not Covered’ section on page 8. Is Labour Covered? Yes – Sytner Warranty covers parts, labour and VAT as outlined in this document. Can I Use My Usual Dealer to get My Car Repaired? Sytner Warranty recommends that you use your usual Sytner dealer to have your car fixed but you can use another repairer if necessary – all that we ask is that the repairer is VAT-registered. If you’re unsure, we’d recommend your usual franchised dealer or the dealer you bought your car from. Your repairer will be able to manage any claim for you and we’ll liaise directly with your repairer to authorise and pay for valid repairs. If a claim’s valid, there’s nothing else for you to pay. What are the Servicing Requirements? Your car has to be serviced in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s guidelines. Throughout the warranty period a VAT-registered garage must carry out all servicing. Services must be carried out within 500 miles/four weeks of the intervals specified by the vehicle manufacturer, whichever comes first. We recommend you use your usual Sytner dealer to have your car serviced. How Soon can I Make a Valid Claim? You can make a valid claim as soon as your policy is registered with us – there’s no waiting period before a claim can be made. We can’t cover claims if the failure already existed when your policy was registered though. Is Recovery Included? Yes – Sytner Warranty includes 12 months’ roadside assistance cover as standard. 3 What Happens if My Car Breaks Down Abroad? If you breakdown abroad, you should have the car fixed locally and then contact us on your return to the UK to arrange for any reimbursement. Please ensure you obtain a full receipt for any work carried out. Unfortunately, we can’t liaise or authorise repairs directly with repairers overseas. What if I Change My Mind? If you change your mind, you have the right to cancel the warranty within 30 days of purchase. Should you wish to cancel within this period please contact us on 0344 573 8210 and speak to our customer services team. If you wish to cancel your policy after this 30-day period, you may cancel your policy at any time and receive a pro rata refund of your premium based on the number of whole months remaining subject to the deduction of a cancellation fee of £30 – please refer to the Warranty Terms and Conditions on page 9. If you’ve got any questions, please call us directly on 0344 573 8210. 4 About Us Why choose Sytner Warranty? There is no restriction to the number of claims you can make, up to an overall aggregate claim limit which is no more than the value of the vehicle at the time of purchase. Mechanical or electrical breakdown is the failure of a component, causing a sudden stoppage of its function, for a reason other than wear and tear, normal deterioration or negligence. Damage caused by the effect of overheating is not regarded as a mechanical or electrical breakdown under the terms of the warranty. You are covered only for the parts described in this handbook. Your warranty does not cover more than the manufacturer’s list price for parts. Repairs must not start without the prior approval of Sytner Warranty. What is Covered Your Sytner Select Warranty covers almost all mechanical and electrical components on your vehicle, for mechanical and electrical breakdown, subject to the conditions detailed in this handbook and the maximum claim limit. There are some components, such as service items, which are not covered. If your claim is valid, we will pay for fault diagnosis charges subject to a maximum of £75 per claim including VAT or one hour of labour, whichever is lower. 6 Policy Summary Table Component Sytner Warranty Engine ✓ Turbo unit ✓ Cooling system ✓ Manual gearbox ✓ Clutch ✓ In-car entertainment ✓ Differential ✓ Final drive ✓ Wheel bearings ✓ Steering ✓ Brakes ✓ Electrics ✓ Automatic gearbox and transfer box ✓ Fuel system ✓ Air conditioning ✓ Ignition system ✓ Central locking ✓ Suspension ✓ Consumables (required as part of a valid repair) ✓ Software upgrades (required as part of a valid repair) ✓ The chart above is a simple indication of the parts covered.
