- 8 - Videotron Ltd.

Videotron held its position as a Canadian telecommunications and entertainment industry leader. A number of significant events in 2013 solidified Videotron’s high standing in the industry.

First, an agreement with Rogers to build out and operate a shared Long-Term Evolution (LTE) network will bring the cutting-edge technology to more customers in Québec and the Ottawa area. The two companies will share the costs of installing and operating the network. The resulting capital savings will be reinvested in existing networks to make them still more powerful, robust and reliable for the benefit of customers. Videotron will therefore be better positioned than ever to meet the steadily growing needs of consumers and businesses.

Ahead of the curve To meet its customers’ fast-changing entertainment needs, Videotron continued innovating in content distribution. The illico Club subscription video-on-demand (VoD) service, launched at the beginning of the year, had signed up almost 60,000 members by the end of 2013. Its catalogue offers thousands of titles, including the largest selection of French- language content in the land. With diverse programming tailored to Quebecers’ tastes and a versatile, user-friendly 2013 was also the 10th anniversary of Videotron’s VoD platform, illico Club has become Québec’s go-to entertainment service. In a notable achievement, Videotron was ranked the most respected telecommunications company in Québec for the eighth consecutive year, based on a Léger Marketing/Les Affaires survey.

- 10 - MAtv

The results of the past few months leave no room for doubt: VOX’s repositioning has been a resounding success. In early 2013, the channel, redubbed MAtv, started registering significantly improved ratings (source: BBM Survey) and extending its reach in the community. MAtv produces informative and educational content and delivers it in an interactive format that gives members of Québec communities a chance to express themselves. Nearly 50% of its programming originates from citizen-initiated projects. Heartened by the level of public participation, Videotron has announced plans to launch MYtv in the near future; the new channel will give the Montréal area’s English-speaking community a voice.

- 12 - - 13 - Sun Media Corporation

In recent years, the news landscape has seen unprecedented upheavals. Sun Media Corporation has adroitly handled the new challenges created by the ongoing changes, particularly on the digital front. During the year, it continued improving its editorial and content for mobile platforms and took a number of initiatives to support its sustainability.

Among other things, eight publications and three free commuter dailies – the newspapers in Ottawa, and – were discontinued. In December 2013, Sun Media Corporation carried out a strategic repositioning by withdrawing from the community weeklies market in Québec and selling its 74 Québec weeklies to Transcontinental Interactive for $75.0 million. The sale is subject to regulatory approval, specifically by the Competition Bureau.

Le Journal de Montréal webradio: a first for a Canadian daily newspaper After its launch in early 2013,Le Journal de Montréal’s new webradio service quickly found an audience, drawing thousands of listeners per day. The service, the only one of its kind in Canada, brings reporters, columnists and bloggers together in a studio set up at the Journal de Montréal’s newsroom. The broadcasts can be streamed live or accessed from the archive, in audio or video format, and are linked to the online text versions of the relevant reports and columns.
