EIC Newsbrief – China January 2013 Oil & Gas – Upstream & Downstream CNOOC plans to expand its Enping oilfield in the South China Sea China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) is to expand its planned Enping oilfield complex by adding another drilling and production platform to the development in the South China Sea. The additional discovery of the Enping 23-1 gas field has prompted CNOOC to build a second such platform in the Enping development. The eight-leg fixed drilling and production platform is currently being studied at the CNOOC Research Institute. The scheme calls for building a 14-kilometre subsea pipeline to link the floating, production, storage and offloading vessel, which is being built to develop Enping 24-2, the major field for the Enping field complex. The platform will involve 13 drilling slots, with first production expected in 2016, two years after Enping 24-2. Production will peak at 7.1 million barrels per annum. Late last year, CNOOC awarded two separate contracts to National Oilwell Varco (NOV) and Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (DSIC) to build the mooring system and hull of the Enping FPSO. The mooring system of the 150,000 dwt floater is being designed in Houston by US engineering service provider COTEC Offshore Solutions. Fabrication of the floater’s topsides is understood to have been contracted to COOEC, which will likely sub-contract the job to DSIC’s offshore unit -DSIC Offshore to save time and cost for integration and commissioning. The crude will be exported from the platform to the FPSO through a subsea pipeline. CNOOC is on course for FLNG CNOOC is set to commission its first floating liquefied natural gas project in Tianjin off Northern China in the current quarter. The company, via its LNG division CNOOC Gas & Power, is now securing the first cargo from its “international portfolio” for delivery in March for a trial run before commercial operation in April.

E-mail: [email protected] [Yan, L.-X. 2014. An preliminary list of the mosquitoes (Diptera: Culicidae) of Shandong province, China. Munis Entomology & Zoology, 9 (1): 320-324] ABSTRACT: This survey, resulting in the collection of over 40,000 adults specimens, was conducted by the authors from 2011 to 2013. The collection records and literature show 33 species and 1 subspecies as occurring or having occurred in Shandong province. A key to all known genera of mosquito in Shandong province is provided. KEY WORDS: Shandong, mosquitoes, distribution, surveys. Mosquitoes, comprise a monophyletic taxon (Wood & Borkent, 1989; Miller et al., 1997; Harbach & Kitching, 1998; Harbach, 2007) belonging to family Culicidae, order Diptera. This family is divided into three subfamilies: Toxorhynchitinae, Anophelinae (anophelines) and Culicinae (culicines). Culicidae, includes 3523 extant species classified in 111 genera (including the 80 genera of tribe Aedini recognized in the phylogenetic classification of Reinert et al., 2009), is a large and abundant group that occurs throughout temperate and tropical regions of the world, and well beyond the Arctic Circle. Mosquitoes are most diverse and least known in tropical forest environments. Mosquitoes have a worldwide distribution. Shandong province is located on the eastern edge of the North China Plain. History Publications. 363. https://ir.lib.uwo.ca/historypub/363 Managing Historical Capital in Shandong: Museum, Monument, and Memory in Provincial China JAMES A. FLATH Introduction For most people, the written texts of history are only pale reflections of the history they see in their everyday surroundings. An ancient building, a local museum, a statue in a park, or even a notable landscape can carry historical narratives in ways that are more immediate and lasting than any well-re- searched discourse on history. Yet these publicly accessible historical represen- tations are also highly selective in the subjects they portray. Visitors often leave with little more than an impression of the event, person, or place represented by the site, and perhaps a souvenir or T-shirt as evidence of their historical experience. So although the historical site is a poor representation of the actual past, the immediacy and stature of historical monuments and museums imbue them with a strong capacity to configure history in the present. This discussion considers how the past informs the present through the preserved and monumentally represented remains of provincial Chinese history. China, as we are frequently reminded, has the world’s longest continu- ous history and probably the greatest number of historical sites.

The measurement method formulates three research objectives. First, the shrinking intensity and characteristics are analyzed according to statistics about the average annual rate of population growth, the primary production proportion, and public expenditure. Second, the influence factors are explored. Living standards, industrial development, social input, and public resource indicators are selected to quantitatively identify the push factors and pull factors and the correlated relationship of how the factors influence the population decline using ridge regression. Finally, the circular feedback mechanism and push-pull effect of multiple factors are explained. How do the factors affect each other and which is the decisive factor shaping county shrinkage? The push-pull mechanism is analyzed using dynamic relationship testing and Citation: Wang, M.; Yang, S.; Gao, H.; the Granger causality test. The results show that the shrinkage of county-level cities faces common Abudu, K.
