CBS NEWS ANCHOR BOB SCHIEFFER SPEAKS MONDAY SEPT. 29Th Reading and Book signing for Bob Schieffer’s America

Atlanta, GA. - The Carter Presidential Library and A Cappella Books are proud to host CBS News Anchor and host Bob Schieffer on Monday, September 29th at 7 pm. Schieffer will read from his new book of essays “Bob Schieffer’s America.” Tickets for the reading and book signing are $10 per person or free with the purchase of his book from A Cappella Books. To reserve your tickets or books, call A Cappella Books at 404-681-5128. Tickets and books will also be available for purchase at the event. Members of “Friends of the Carter Library” receive free admission and can reserve their seats by calling 404-865-7109. Bob Schieffer has been covering the news for forty-five years, first as a newspaper reporter and, since 1969, as a correspondent for CBS News. At CBS, he is one of the very few correspondents who have covered all four major Washington beats: the , Pentagon, State Department, and Capitol Hill. He has been CBS’s chief Washington correspondent since 1982, and became the anchor and moderator of Face the Nation in 1991. Bob Schieffer’s America brings together 168 of his best essays, pieces that cover a broad range: from the hard issues of today to the human stories that show us who we are; from politics and presidents and tragedy to the things that touch us, make us laugh, or reveal the small shifts in our culture that sometimes just creep up on us. Smart, humorous, commonsensical, pitch-perfect—sometimes bitingly critical and plainspoken, other times suffused with wonder or delight—these essays speak to us all. Bob Schieffer will speak in the Carter Center’s Cecil B. Day Chapel. Doors open at 6 pm. For more information, call 404-865-7109. To read about other author lectures, visit www.jimmycarterlibrary.gov
