· All-Time Series vs. Washington State: Arizona State broke a three-game losing streak to the Sun Devils and now leads the all-time series 17-12-2 dating back to the first meeting in 1960. ASU also holds a 11-5-2 advantage in games played in Tempe. Washington State had won the last two meetings at Martin Stadium in Pullman and a 28-16 Cougar win at Sun Devil Stadium in 2001. ASU’s fourth year head coach Dirk Koetter notched his first victory over the Cougars after losing the previous five meetings (3 at ASU, 2 at Boise State). Walter’s 332 passing yards are the sixth most by a player in the all-time series and his five TD’s are the most.

· Home Winning Streak: With the 45-28 victory over the Cougars , ASU ran its home winning streak to seven games, finishing the 2004 home season with a perfect 6-0 record at Sun Devil Stadium. ASU completed its first undefeated home season since 1996 and registered the 18th undefeated home season in school history. ASU outscored its opponent in home games this season 240-152, averaging 40 points per game at Sun Devil Stadium this season.

· Walter Adds More Ink To Record Books: Senior QB finished out his career at Sun Devil Stadium in style, completing 26-of-41 passes for 332 yards and five passes. After already owning nearly very passing record in the Sun Devil record books, Walter added one more Saturday night by recording his 30th TD pass of the season, setting the ASU record. He also recorded his fourth career game with five or more TD passes and threw for over 300 yards for the 15th time in his career. Walter has thrown 54 of his school and Pac-10 record 85 touchdown passes at Sun Devil Stadium. His 2,830 yards passing this season also rank fourth in the single- season record books … a record Walter already holds the No. 1 (3,877, 2002) and No. 2 (3,044, 2003) spots in the ASU record books. Walter, who has thrown to 18 different receivers for in his career, hit five different receivers for TD’s vs. the Cougars.

· Hagan Has Another Big Night: ASU junior Derek Hagan, a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award, led ASU with nine catches for 113 yards and one TD. Hagan now has 67 catches for 956 yards this season and 10 touchdowns. He recorded his sixth 100- yard game this season and 12th of his career. He ranks second in the record books with his 67 catches, passing his 66 catches from last season. He now has 2,437 career receiving yards, moving into fifth place in the ASU career record books.

· Zach Miller Time: Freshman tight end Zach Miller set the ASU freshman record for receiving yards in a season with five catches for 39 yards and his sixth touchdown of the year. Miller already holds the freshman record for receptions with 43, surpassing the old record of 32 set by teammate Derek Hagan in 2002.

· First Quarter Frenzy: The Sun Devils scored 21 points in the first quarter, marking the most points scored by an ASU squad in the opening frame since 2002 (65-24 win over Stanford). Senior QB Andrew Walter was 7-for-10 for 134 yards and three TD’s. In the Stanford game he also three for three TD’s, going 10-for-18 for 202 yards.

· First Half Frenzy: The 31 points scored in the first half are the most by a Sun Devil team since scoring 38 against Stanford in a 65-24 win in 2002. Andrew Walter was 16-for-27 with three TD’s and 201 yards in the first half. Junior tailback Hakim Hill rushed for 82 yards on 15 carries (5.5 avg.) in the first half.

· Matt Miller Time: Junior wide receiver Matt Miller had three catches for 86 yards (28.7 avg.) and one touchdown . He connected with Andrew Walter on a 28-yard scoring play in the first quarter to put ASU up 7-0. It was Miller’s third touchdown in the last two games and the fourth of his career. He also caught a 51-yard pass down to the 1-yard line at the end of the first quarter for his third reception this season of 50 or more yards.

· T-Rich: Sophomore wide receiver Terry Richardson caught two passes for 25 yards, including his sixth career touchdown. Richardson’s bigges t contribution on the night came on special teams, returning four punts for 70 yards (17.5 avg.). He had 33-yard and 21-yard return to both surpass his previous career high of 16 yards.

· The Caldwell Factor: Sophomore defensive end Kyle Caldwell had only two tackles in the game, but made them both count as he had a pair of sacks and also recorded his first career . Caldwell leads the team with seven sacks on the season.

· Defense Stingy On Third Down: The Arizona State defense held Washington State to only 2-for-14 on third down conversions and 0- for-1 on fourth down. For the season, ASU’s defense has held its opponent to only a 30% success rate on third down (46-for-151).

· Sun Devil Tidbits: ASU executed its third fake punt of the year, converting a first down on all three tries… redshirt freshman punter Chris MacDonald hit tight end Lee Burghgraef on a 34-yard pass in the first quarter… MacDonald is now 2-for-2 for 60 yards this season (352.00 QB rating)… MacDonald’s 72-yard punt that was downed at the 1-yard line late in the second quarter was a career-high and the longest punt by a Sun Devil since Tim Parker’s 75-yarder against USC in 2002 (6th longest in ASU history)… sophomore defensive end Kyle Caldwell recorded his first career interception… he became the ninth Sun Devil this season to record an INT (16 overall)… sophomore kicker Jesse Ainsworth made a 21-yard field goal in the second quarter and is 14-for-20 (.700) this season… junior tailback Hakim Hill led ASU with 103 yards gained on the ground, but lost nine yards for a 94-yard net gain evening on 24 carries (3.9 avg.)… seven different receivers caught at least one pass for the Sun Devils … freshman Antone Saulsberry rushed for 37 yards on 11 carries (3.4 avg.) in the fourth quarter… both were career highs.

· Cougar Notes: The 56-yard run by Jerome Harrison was the second longest given up by the ASU defense this year… UCLA running back Chris Markey had a 61-yard run in ASU’s 48-42 victory (10/23)… the run was a career-long by Harrison, who was named the Pac- 10 Offensive Player of the Week after running fro 247 yards against UCLA last weekend… the 76-yard punt return for a TD by freshman Michael Bumpus was the sixth longest in WSU history… wide receiver Jason Hill recorded his 11th touchdown reception of the year, tying the WSU single-season record… the rushing TD by Chris Bruhn late in the fourth quarter was the first of his career… Andrew Walter’s five TD passers were the most by an opposing QB since winner Ty Detmer in 1990.
