RECAPITULATIF DE L’EVOLUTION DE LA SITUATION 1NUTRITIONNELLE DES COMMUNES DURANT TOUTE L’ANNEE 2018 Le résumé de la surveillance nutritionnelle sur les huit (8) districts sur toute l’année montre l’évolution de la situation nutritionnelle dans les 147 communes du sud. Toutes les communes ont bénéficié au moins de deux opérations de dépistage durant l’année, et les résultats mettent en évidence des évolutions positives de la situation dans une bonne partie des communes et la persistance de la situation nutritionnelle d’alerte et/ou d’urgence dans certaines communes typiques expliquant la stagnation globale du niveau district après le premier trimestre de l’année 2018. BREF APERÇU DE LA SITUATION NUTRITIONNELLE AU 2QUATRIEME TRIMESTRE DE 2018 Des dépistages exhaustifs de la malnutrition aiguë ont été complétés dans Carte 1: Identification des communes en urgence et/ou huit (8) districts du sud de Madagascar au cours du quatrième trimestre alerte pendant les dépistages exhaustifs – quatrième de l’année 2018 par les services déconcentrés du Gouvernement de trimestre 2018 Madagascar (Office National de Nutrition et Ministère de la Santé Publique). Sur l’ensemble des 8 districts, 269,660 enfants ont été dépistés sur 330,957 T3_2018 enfants attendus (soit 81%). T4_2018 L’analyse des résultats de ces dépistages révèle une : • URGENCE NUTRITIONNELLE dans 15% des communes 22 communes sur 146 15% • ALERTE NUTRITIONNELLE dans 12% des communes 18 communes sur 146 12% • SITUATION NUTRITIONNELLE SOUS CONTRÔLE dans 73% des communes 73% 107 communes sur 146 Ces résultats montrent un début de dégradation de la situation dû au début de la période de soudure dans les districts d’Ampanihy, Tsihombe, Ambovombe et Bekily. Le district d’Ampanihy demeure toujours en situation d’urgence nutritionnelle avec une dégradation continue depuis le second trimestre de l’année 2018. Cette situation se reflète dans l’augmentation graduelle, entre octobre et novembre 2018, du nombre d’enfants malnutris aigus sévères pris en charge au niveau des centres de santé offrant le service de prise en charge de la malnutrition Le Gouvernement et ses partenaires continuent les interventions prioritaires aiguë sévère (CRENAS). du secteur nutrition au niveau des communes et des districts sanitaires selon les financements disponibles. Les objectifs du système de surveillance nutritionnelle, la méthodologie et les résultats globaux et par districts sont rappelés en annexe du bulletin. Food consumption: In the South East, the District of Farafangana records a high proportion of households having a poor FCS (Food Consumption Score) (20,1%) ; the other districts have a rate ranging from 3 and 7,8%. With regard to the South, Ampanihy, Beloha, Tsihombe, the 4 Communes of Taolagnaro, Bekily, and Toliara II recorded an FCS exceding 20%.

    MADAGASCAR Food Security Outlook February to September 2016 Ongoing drought will drive food insecurity during the 2016/17 consumption year KEY MESSAGES Current food security outcomes for February 2016 An El Niño-related drought is ongoing in the South and West, with certain areas facing one of the driest rainy seasons in 35 years. Although sufficient rainfall in central and northern parts of country will contribute to near-average harvests in those areas, staple food production at a national-level will likely be below- average due to significant declines in production in drought-affected areas. Poor households in the south, particularly in Androy, Atsimo Andrefana, Tsihombe and Ambovombe, will continue to face Crisis (IPC Phase 3) or Stressed (IPC Phase 2) food insecurity between February and April 2016 due to the effects of two consecutive years of below-average crop production in 2014 and 2015 and an ongoing, extended lean season caused by drought-related delays in 2016 harvests. Between April and August, main season harvests will slightly improve food insecurity in the South, although many households will still face Stressed (IPC Phase 2) outcomes given the effects of expected below-average harvests.     United Nations Nations Unies Office of the Resident Coordinator Madagascar • Dahalo 1 Attack Displaces People in the South Situation Update - 15 June 2012 This update is produced by the Resident Coordinator’s Office in collaboration with humanitarian partners. I. HIGHLIGHTS/KEY PRIOR ITIES • On 09 June 2012, heavily armed and well organized groups of dahalo (operating mostly in rural areas of Madagascar) carried out violent attacks on Ilambohazo village in the extreme southeast region of Anosy. • The attack left 6 people dead, all members of security forces (5 military personnel and 1 gendarme ). Another 7 agents were wounded and 4 are still missing. • After the attack, the dahalo threatened to attack six villages of Anosy Region in the following days which led to a population’s displacement towards Taolagnaro town. • Various local sources put the number of displaced people from the communes at risk at around 1,800 persons. Local authorities talked about some hundreds of people have temporarily settled in a piece of land in the town centre of Taolagnaro. • On 13 June , local authorities met to discuss the support they would provide to the IDPs and any other vulnerable families. • On 14 June, the Prime Minister, with the Minister of Defence, the Minister Internal Security and the Secretary of State for Gendarmerie and parliamentarians from the areas concerned, left the country’s capital city, Antananarivo, for Taolagnaro, to assess the security and humanitarian situation. • UN joint mission, chaired by the UNRC a.i. and composed of OCHA/RCO, WFP and UNICEF, also joined the Government mission to assess the humanitarian situation and prepare rapid needs assessment if necessary.
