Tutkimusaineistona käytettiin levyarvioita Rumban numeroista 1-4/18 sekä Soundin numeroista 1-6/18. Aineistoa analysoitiin kriittisen diskurssianalyysin menetelmin. Analyysin keskiössä olivat erilaiset representaatiot maskuliinisuudesta, feminiinisyy- destä sekä sukupuolitetusta ja rodullistetusta musiikkiin tai musiikintekijöihin liitty- västä autenttisuudesta.
