The Revelation of : "The Seventh Trumpet Sounds" Revelation 11:15-20

Introduction- The sounding of the 7th Trumpet causes Heaven to erupt in praise!

I. The Kingdom of this World has become the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ Revelation 11:15 14 The second woe is past; behold, the third woe is coming quickly. 15 Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and ever.”

A. The Seventh Angel Sounds His Trumpet 11:15a

B. In Response to the Seventh Angel, Loud Voices in Heaven Surrounding His Throne 11:15b

C. The Kingdom of the World has Become the Kingdom of our God 11:15c

D. Jesus Takes Back the World and Reigns Forever Revelation 11:15da 1. Satan is a usurper, not the rightful king, but is referred to as “the ruler of this world.” (John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11). 2. The Kingdom "has become", use of proleptic language, where "a future event is described as if it had already taken place".

II. God Has Taken His Great Power and Begun to Reign (Revelation 11:16-17) 16 And the twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying, “We give You thanks, O Lord God, the Almighty, who are and who were, because You have taken Your great power and have begun to reign.

A. First, they called Him “the Almighty” which focuses on God’s sovereign omnipotent power.

B. The elders proclaim that God is eternal by the phrase “who are and who were.”

C. The elders praise God for His sovereignty, proclaiming to God, “You have taken Your great power and have begun to reign.” III. The Nations are Enraged Because God's Wrath and Judgment Came Rev. 11:18 18 And the nations were enraged, and Your wrath came, and the time came for the dead to be judged, and the time to reward Your bond-servants the prophets and the saints and those who fear Your name, the small and the great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth.”

A. The first result, “And the nations were engraged” Rev. 11:18a; Psalm 2

B. The second result, “…and Your wrath came…” Revelation 11:18b

C. “…the time came for the dead to be judged…” Revelation 11:18c

D. The days of the seventh trumpet will be “…the time to reward Your bond- servants the prophets and the saints and those who fear Your name, the small and the great…” Revelation 11:18d

E. The wrath of God will “destroy those who destroy the earth.” Rev. 11:18e

IV. The Temple and the Recalls Redemption Rev. 11:19 19 And the temple of God which is in heaven was opened; and the ark of His covenant appeared in His temple, and there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder and an earthquake and a great hailstorm.

A. John sees the real, literal temple in Heaven

B. The ark of the covenant appears in the temple as a reminder of the promises of God and the work Christ in the expiation of sin

C. The ark of the covenant reminds of the presence of God in accomplishing redemption and the doing away with sin.

CONCLUSION: 1. The seventh trumpet of judgment has sounded, the Seven Bowl Judgments are next. 2. The promise of the Seven Bowl judgments causes Heaven to cheer! 3. The Rightful King now rules over all the earth.
