First Global Forum of the People of God (Council 50 ) Page 3 / 182 1st Global Forum of the People of God, Rome 2015 Donors We received donations from more than 60 individuals and organizations expressing thus their willingness to support more strongly the Council 50 event. The total amount of donations collected was about 43,000 Euros (around 45 000 USD), which includes the amount of travel expenses and others costs paid by benevolent members of the preparation team who did not claim any refunding. This does not include registration fees paid by participants. Even though most part of those financial contributions came from Europe and North- America, we also had contributions from other parts of the world. It goes without saying that such contributions were not only extremely important, but really vital for success of Council 50. This allowed holding the Council 50 event at a worldwide level with speakers and participants coming from all continents (Central Africa, South Africa, South and North America, Asia, Europe) while maintaining the registration fees at a reasonable level. The collected donations money was used for the main following purposes: - Financial help (airline tickets and accommodation costs) to around 15 speakers and participants, especially those coming from overseas, who could not afford such expenses. - Costs related to invitees - Administrative and logistics costs. - The volunteer work of the contributors and members of the organizing team made possible the organization of this event by reducing strongly the budget that amounted to less than 53,000 euros. All the donators deserve warm thanks for their generous contributions that make possible the gathering of Rome and the participation of delegates from all the parts of the world, strenghthening the “Council 50 Declaration” and the projects resulting from this event. Translators The languages of the meeting were English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. Contributions of many translators were necessary to realize this English edition. Paul et Hélène Le Duff, James Barnett, Thérèse Joubioux, Vittorio Bellavite, Raquel Mallavibarrena, Vittorio Bellavite deserve our gratitude. Particular thanks I owe many thanks to all the contributors and particularly to Janet Hauter, national chair of American Catholic Council who took the trouble to reread the manuscript and make the comments that have greatly improved it. De Europa a África, de Asia a América, hasta Oceanía, los fieles de las comunidades católicas, diócesis, parroquias, asociaciones y grupos eclesiales renovaron su vocación y misión de ‘Bautizados y Enviados’, el tema central de este mes que pretendía revivir en todos ellos la conciencia de estar llamados a evangelizar. "Este Mes Misionero Extraordinario quiere ser una sacudida que nos impulse a ser activos en el bien. No notarios de la fe y guardianes de la gracia, sino misioneros”, destacó el Papa Francisco. La celebración del Mes Misionero Extraordinario no fue una serie de acontecimientos "centralizados" por iniciativa de la Santa Sede: el Papa Francisco celebró la solemne apertura con las Vísperas el 1 de octubre en la basílica San Pedro y luego todas las Iglesias locales, en los cinco continentes, promovieron la oración, la liturgia y los testimonios.
