Both project physical progress and IBRD Loan disbursement are ahead of schedule. The project agencies have been successful in promoting the implementation of innovative ecological afforestation models to restore forest cover in highly degraded mountainous areas and saline coastal land to reduce water, soil and wind erosions as well as to stabilize newly created alluvial lands. As indicated by the monitoring results, all project mid-term targets set out in the PAD were either fulfilled or exceeded.
