1 Mobile Devices and Accessories

1.1 Description

Mobile Devices may be cell phones, smartphones, internet sticks, tablets, etc. Accessories may be cases, headsets, car adapters, cables, etc.

1.2 Unlocked Devices

Upon request by McGill, at any time during the contract term, Bell Mobility will agree to unlock the mobile devices it has supplied under the contract. These unlocked devices may then be used on the compatible networks of other suppliers following the end of the contract.

In addition, Bell Mobility will accept to activate lines on unlocked phones purchased from another supplier.

1.3 Prices

1.3.1 First Mobile Communication Device During the term of this contract, Bell Mobility undertakes to provide one complimentary device per user, for voice or voice and data models, with an acquisition price of up to $150 (or up to $159.95 for the iPhone 4 16G, for which a slightly higher credit is included). The prices for the mobile devices are indicated on Bell Mobility’s national website (www.bell.ca). Tablets (iPad, Playbook, etc.) will not be subsidized by Bell Mobility under this contract.

The conditions of this contract supersede those of the website. Authorized McGill University users may choose among all the available terms of commitment.

1.3.2 Second Mobile Communication Device If the user wishes to change his device to another (due to damages, theft, loss, etc.) during the 36-month term of the contract between McGill and Bell, a charge of $7 per month for the remaining term of the contract will apply. The charge will serve to pay for the second device, which must be selected in accordance with Section 1.1.

All purchases of devices after the second device will be at the full retail price.

Example:

The first device is lost or broken on the 12th month of the 36 month contract. 24 months thus remain to the contract term.

A monthly fee of $7 for each month remaining to the term of the contract will be applied to the Bell Mobility invoice, for a total of $168 (7$ X 24 = $168).

If the second device is for example, a Blackberry Bold 9780, the contract price is $0. As such the total cost of a replacement device (2nd phone) will be $168 + 0= $168.
