The Archbishop knelt before the King and pronounced the words of Fealty for himself and the other Lords Spiritual, who knelt in their places and said their words of Fealty after him. The Archbishop then kissed His Majesty's left cheek.

Then the Duke of Gloucester, ascending the steps of the Throne and taking off his coronet,, knelt before the King, placed his hands between the King's hands, and pronounced the words- of Homage; His Royal Highness then touched the Crown upon His Majesty's head, kissed His Majesty's left cheek, and retired. After him the Duke of Kent, also kneeling before the King, in like manner performed his Homage. The other Peers of the Realm then did their Homage. The Senior of each Degree ascended the steps of the Throne, put off his coronet, knelt before the King, placed his hands within the King's hands, and pronounced the words of Homage for himself and the other Peers of the same Degree, who, taking off their coronets and kneeling in their places, said the words of Homage after him. The Senior Peer of each Degree then touched His Majesty's Crown and kissed His Majesty's left cheek. The Peers bearing the Swords, when, performing their Homage, delivered them to Peers near them to hold during the Ceremony.
