This thesis consists of a collection of technical terms which are regularly used in the area of pool billiards. The target audience are pool players who participate in international tournaments and seek to communicate efficiently in this area. The glossary contains 85 technical terms and their definitions in German, which are then contrasted with their English equivalents. A large number of illustrations added to the glossary will help the reader understand the concepts behind those terms. The theoretical part of the thesis contains a brief introduction to the field and an overview of the history of pool billiards. It is followed by a description of the basic principles regarding terminology work and their application on this glossary, including specific cases, problems and paths to their solution in pool billiards terminology. In most cases, the technical terms in both languages have been found to show a 1:1 equivalency, which may also be a result of standardized international rules of play, at least with regard to tournaments, existing in both languages and following the same structure. With this glossary, the author aims at further contributing to an easier international communication, not by contrasting the texts, but by contrasting the terminology itself.
