El Post-Rock De the Album Leaf Sonará Mañana En El Lunario México D.F., a 16 de julio de 2014 El post-rock de The Album Leaf sonará mañana en el Lunario El proyecto del multiinstrumentista Jimmy LaValle se presenta este jueves 17 de julio Es el tercer concierto de la serie Ordinary People El ciclo busca una conexión entre el artista y el público El tercer capítulo de Ordinary People, serie de conciertos creada por el Lunario y la disquera independiente Pedro y el Lobo, llega mañana jueves 17 de julio con The Album Leaf, proyecto del multiinstrumentista estadounidense Jimmy LaValle, cuya propuesta post-rock saltó a la escena musical a finales de los años 90 en San Diego, California. La música de The Album Leaf, en la que se fusionan beats electrónicos y sonidos acústicos, ningún instrumento es protagonista; todos tienen su espacio y trabajan juntos para producir ambientes y llegar a momentos de clímax capaces de atrapar y emocionar a cualquiera. Jimmy LaValle es un compositor radicado en San Diego, que empezó a grabar su propio material bajo el concepto The Album Leaf un año después de formar la banda de post-rock Tristeza. Influido por géneros como el jazz clásico y el post- rock, construyó sus canciones de una manera ecléctica, utilizando desde ruidos ambientales hasta grabaciones de campo y transmisiones de radio. Este sonido fue introducido en su álbum debut An Orchestrated Rise To Fall (1999). Después de lanzar un EP titulado In An Off White Room, el compositor presentó su segundo disco One Day I’ll Be On Time, en marzo de 2011. The Album Leaf ganó popularidad a partir de esas grabaciones, lo cual llevó a LaValle a abrir los conciertos de la primera gira de la banda islandesa Sigur Rós en Estados Unidos ese mismo otoño. En la grabación de su tercer álbum trabajó en los estudios de esa banda en Islandia, en el que colaboraron varios miembros del grupo. El resultado de esas sesiones fue In A Safe Place, lanzado por el sello Sub Pop en junio de 2004. The Seal Beach, EP originalmente publicado en España en 2003, llegó a los Estados Unidos un par de años después. Le siguió su cuarto álbum de estudio, Into The Blue Again (2006). The Album Leaf se presentó en vivo esporádicamente durante el resto de esa década y abrió el concierto de Devendra Banhart en el Hollywood Bowl en 2008. Dos años después, LaValle regresó con su quinto disco, A Chorus Of Storytellers. La serie de conciertos Ordinary People busca crear una nueva cultura de música en vivo en la Ciudad de México, que permita una conexión verdadera entre el artista y la audiencia. El concierto Ordinary People: The Album Leaf se presenta en el Lunario (Reforma 50, Bosque de Chapultepec, costado poniente del Auditorio Nacional), mañana jueves 17 de julio a las 21:00 horas.
