ELPING YOUNG PEOPLE develop healthy lifestyles is a priority outcome of the Boys & Girls Club experience. From the Club’s Healthy Habits Cafés, to a variety of sports and fitness activities, Club members have numerous opportunities to become physically fit, eat well, and most Himportantly, learn how to make smart choices about their relationships and behaviors. SMART Girls Using dynamic SMART Girls groups and discussions, field trips, girls-only physical fitness and recreation activities, and mentoring opportunities with adult women, the SMART Girls Initiative helps girls build skills for eating right, staying physically fit, getting good health care, and developing positive relationships. The program also helps young girls resist drug use and premature sexual activity by enhancing their life skills, building their resiliency, and strengthening their leadership abilities.
