No Probate date. Cousin: Sidney Collins of Hereford County (widow of Nes? Collins, late gentleman) who was the second daughter of my late Uncle Thos. Collins of Holymell in Huntingdon County – all my messuage or tenements barns, and estates in several parishes in Essex County. Cousin Edd. Collins of VA in America (son of my uncle Thos. Collins, deceased) – 600 guineas, but if the said Edd. is deceased I leave this sum to his children, in any. Ann Collins of St. Ives in Huntington County (daughter of my said uncle Thos. Collins) – 600 guineas. Rev. Sam. Beathel the younger of Herford county, cleric and grandson of my late uncle Thos. Collins – 400 guineas. - 2 - Thos. Collins (son of my late cousin Robt. Collins of Holborn, sadler) – 400 guineas, and to his two sisters (unnamed) 250 guineas each. Daughter of my late cousin Thos. Collins, who was the youngest son of my late uncle Robt. Collins – 150 guineas. Ann Collins of Bronyard in Hereford county, youngest daughter of my said uncle Robert Collins – 300 guineas. George Evans and his sister Mary Lea (son and daughter of my late uncle George Evans) – 100 guineas each. Eliz. Jervis (daughter of Thos. Jervis, Esq. Of White Row Spittle Fields) – 100 guineas as a grateful acknowledgement of the many friendships I received from her late worthy uncle Cons. Land is that part of Anson Co. now Mecklenburg, between Phifers and William Taylor’s land. 1764, 10 Mar (Mecklenburg Co., NC Deed Book 2 page 296) William Taylor to William McKenney for 50£ 331 acres on West bank Catawba, granted to said William Taylor 20 September 1752. Witnesses were Robt. McClenachan and Henry Keny. 1764, 5 Jan (Mecklenburg Co., NC Deed Book 2 pages 395 – 397) Hamilton Ross of Mecklenburg Co. sold 400 acres between Fishers and William Taylor’s line to Cornelius Anderson of Rowan Co. Witnesses were Henry Sloan and John Sloan. 1764, 13 Oct (Bertie Co., NC Marriage Records) Reuben Taylor to Mary Garre. 1765 (Mecklenburg Co., NC Deed Book 2 page 418. There is no date on this but the dates around it or 1764 and 1765.) Margaret Taylor and John Carr are witnesses to deed that Samuel Sinclair sells to William Read and Inn Holder one Negro boy. 1765, 10 Jun (Mecklenburg Co., NC Deed Book 2 pages 178 & 179) William McKenny and wife Barbara McKenny of Craven Co., SC sells 334 acres on West side Catawba next to Casper Culp, granted to William Taylor 25 Sept. 1754 and sold to McKenny, and he now sells to James Crawford. 1766, Sep (Bertie Co., NC Court of Pleas and Quarters Book 3 page 747) Lillington Lockharts and James Lockharts vs Reuben Taylor: The Jury Impaneled and sworn assesses of the Plts damages the sum of 9£15.2 & 6 pence costs. - 3 - 1766, Dec (Bertie Co., NC Court of Pleas and Quarters Book 3 page 757) Lillington Lockhart and James Lockhart vs Rubin Taylor: the Deft moved by Samuel Johnston attorney at law that he might be permitted to take the benefit of the Insolvant Act which is accordingly granted on his taking the oath by the said Act presented ordered that he be discharged. 1767, 9 Jan (Mecklenburg Co., NC Deed Book 5 page 34) John Taylor mortgage to Henry E. McCulloh. Witnesses were Will Reed and Robert Campbell. 1772, 9 Sep (Mecklenburg Co., NC Deed Book 7 pages 39 – 40) Abraham Taylor witnessed and proved deed of Griffeth Rutherford of Rowan Co., NC to Will Reed of Mecklenburg, land on both sides Pickens Creek, a branch of Twelve Mile Creek. 1775, 11 Apr (Mecklenburg Co., NC Deed Book 7 pages 40 – 41) Margaret Donalson sold to Andrew Donalson, land on the head of Kings Branch, next to John Taylor being part of Selwyn tract. Witnesses were Robt. Campbell and Robert Donaldson. 1777, 8 Feb (Mecklenburg Co., NC Will Book D pages 29-30 C. R. 065.801.27) John Taylor wrote his will naming wife Ruth Taylor, sons Abraham Taylor and John Taylor, and daughters Mary Reed wife to William Reed, Margaret Hutson now wife of Daniel Hutson, and Jane Taylor. Witnesses were Abraham Taylor, George Baker, Jr. and George Baker. Wit: Archd Murphey, John Moore, James Fletcher. 1778, 8 Dec (Caswell Co., NC Land Grants) Reuben Taylor received 2 land grants, one for 100 acres on Mill Creek and the other for 640 acres on Smith’s Mill Creek. 1779, 26 Jan (Caswell Co., NC Marriage Bonds) James Barker to Susana Johnson. Charles Taylor, Sr. was bondsman. 1779, 3 Mar (Caswell Co., NC Deed Book A page 206) Wm Taylor was chain carrier in State of NC # 99 to John Warren (son of Thomas Warren) 640 acres adjoining VA Line, Ferguson’s mill creek.
