    A Feminist View on the Oslo Process The Case of the Palestinian Women’s Movement Yuki Nakao A thesis submitted in partial fulfilment for the Degree of Master of Public Policy Graduate School of Public Policy The University of Tokyo Supervised by Professor Kiichi Fujiwara December, 2019 Abstract This thesis offers a feminist alternative to the gender-blind mainstream analyses of the Palestine-Israel peace process and the 1993 Oslo Agreement, through a process- tracing case study of the Palestinian women’s movement. Drawing upon feminist international relations theories and social movement theories, this study qualitatively analyzes the political environment within which the Palestinian women’s movement has operated. Specifically, it explores and documents what has changed in the pre-Oslo to post-Oslo political environment and what role the Oslo Agreement played in causing this shift. I argue that the emphasis on the state and security in the Oslo process has impeded genuine efforts to promote a democratic system that safeguards human rights and citizenship rights. Major political players – the Palestinian Authority, international donors, and the Israeli government – contributed in different ways in fomenting a hostile environment for women as a result of the security-centric policies being prioritized at every turn. The transformation of the Palestinian women’s movement, from a vibrant force of resistance and democratization during the pre-Oslo period to its fragmentation and inefficacy during the post-Oslo period, reveals how the Palestinian state-making process and once-celebrated peace deal was in fact hostile towards Palestinian women, and detrimental to the advancement of their rights and freedom.

Les deux documents s’accordent sur la position d’éléments topographiques, mais divergent sur la nature et le sens accordés à la représentation de productions humaines. La carte syrienne montre la frontière internationale, la toponymie arabe ainsi que les villages syriens dans leur état de 1967, mais également les bourgs et la nouvelle infrastructure routière israélienne. La carte israélienne montre un plateau annexé à Israël stricto sensu par l’absence d’une frontière et une nouvelle toponymie ; les anciens villages syriens sont des " ruines ".     “Made in Israel”: Agricultural Export from Occupied Territories A flash report By Who Profits In 2010, Israel exported fruit and vegetables in the total worth of 2.1 billion USD, 66% of which were exported to the European market. Some of this produce originated from occupied territories. The Israeli control over the water and the land in the West Bank prevents the development of a Palestinian agriculture. Better yet, the agriculture in the West Bank has turned the settlements themselves into profitable corporations through the establishment of water facilities, crops and export companies. Until its formal liquidation in September 2011, Agrexco was the main agricultural exporter of Israeli produce to Europe. Since then, most of the farmers and packing houses that worked with Agrexco have begun to look for alternative marketing options.
