Carnation Dianthus caryophyllus

● A member of the caryophyllaceae family, or “pink family” ● Its botanical name roughly translates to “flower of love” or “flower of the gods” ● Carnation colors have different meanings. In general they mean fascination or a woman’s love ● Opens the Crown Chakra for higher realm communication ● Relieves stress, anxiety, and fear ● Enhances focus, uplifts your spirit, softens emotions ● Use this oil to infuse your life with feelings of deep peace, calm, and love ● Native to Europe and Asia but were first used by the Greeks and Romans in garlands ● Has become symbolic of a mother’s love and Mother’s Day ● According to Christian legend, carnations first sprung up when the Virgin Mary’s tears hit the ground as she watched carry the cross ● To the Indians of Mexico, they are the "flowers of the dead," and are piled around corpses being prepared for burial. To the Flemish people of Europe, red carnations symbolize love, and pink carnations were traditionally associated with weddings. ● According to one Greek legend, Diana, goddess of the hunt, came across a shepherd playing a flute after an unsuccessful hunt. Blaming his music for spoiling her hunt, she plucked his eyes out. Afterwards, she regretted her actions, and where his eyes had fallen, red carnations grew as a sign of innocent blood. ● Carnation means “God made flesh.” Combined with rose and spikenard it creates the most spiritually potent oil blend.

Wormwood Artemisia absinthium

Element: Air, Fire Planet: Mars Sign: Gemini, Cancer Chakra: Third Eye

● Is named after the Greek goddess Artemis, bringer of dreams, who first brought wormwood to Chiron, the father of medicine ● Can be used as a repellent for pests such as fleas and moths ● Native to Europe, Asia, and northern Africa ● Is known for being very bitter in taste and was once used to expel intestinal worms ● Has psychoactive and hallucinogenic properties similar to THC ● Is protective and can be used for astral travel or contacting spirits ● Is healing, clearing, and enhances dream states ● When the bubonic plague returned to England in the 17th and 18th centuries people burned wormwood to fumigate infected houses ● It’s used to make absinthe, which can have hallucinogenic effects.
