Does food retail access influence dietary intake? Abstract The extent to which the food retail environment, including the availability, price and quality of foodstuffs, has an impact on what people eat remains unclear. This study aimed to determine whether the retail environment, of a household‟s usual main food store or of the area surrounding the home, is independently associated with the dietary intake of individual householders. The study employed a cross-sectional design and comprised simultaneous surveys of all retail outlets selling foodstuffs, and of households and the individuals living in them in the city of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK in 2000-2002. 5044 adults aged 16-97 years living in 3153 households provided data, including a 134-item food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) and detailed socio-demographic information. Detailed data on 33 commonly consumed foods was obtained from 560 food stores.

  • 151016 CB China Power of Retailing 2015 CN.Docx
China Power of Retailing 2015 China Power of Retailing 2015 1 Foreword 2015 has witnessed the recovery of a global economy and the gradual stabilization of a real economy in China. While the Eurozone economy continues to improve, the differentiation among its economies remains noticeable. “Abeconomics” throws Japan into deep recession. The United States of America, as the only exception, enters the trajectory of a strong recovery and the US dollar has appreciated sharply against other major world currencies. Its well-anticipated rise in interest rate in the fourth quarter forebodes an accelerated devaluation of currencies in most emerging economies. As a result, the pressure on devaluating RMB is mounting. With a slowed growth rate, the Chinese economy has arrived at the stage of new normal. The YoY growth for the first half of the year lingers around 7%, hindered by the deceleration of the three engines that used to propel GDP growth – a sluggish export, a slow growth in investment and a domestic consumption that continues to fall behind expectation. Although the growth rate of the total retail of consumer goods has dropped, it has far outpaced the domestic industrial growth. With the consumer confidence seeing constant improvement that will further free up consumption potential, consumption is expected to continue pulling the economy in the future. A continued fall in oil prices has offset the inflationary pressure, curbing the inflation at a lower level to make room for executing a lax monetary policy. To further boost investment and consumption, and reduce enterprise financing costs, the government has gradually redirected its macro economy from “stabilize growth and adjust structure” to “ensure growth,” making the lowering of interest rate and reserve ratio possible in the second half of the year.

U.S. Department of Transportation FRA FACTUAL RAILROAD ACCIDENT REPORT FRA File # HQ-2019-1365 Federal Railroad Administration SYNOPSIS On September 25, 2019, at approximately 2:59 p.m., CDT, a southbound CSX freight train M97225 (Train 1) derailed at CSX Milepost (MP) J22 on the CSX Nashville Division, Chattanooga Subdivision in Smyrna, Tennessee. Train 1 was making a shoving movement with 85 loaded autoracks at a recorded speed of 6 mph, when the train coupled with a boxcar at an excessive speed. The excessive speed coupling caused the 33rd autorack in the train to derail. The Engineer and Conductor were unaware of the derailed equipment and proceeded northbound causing 31 additional autoracks to derail. All autoracks remained upright and parallel to the track. At the time of the derailment, it was daylight, cloudy and the temperature was 85 ºF. No injuries were reported initially; however, the Conductor reported being injured two days after the derailment. Damages reported by CSX were estimated to be $102,883 for equipment and $251,200 for track, totaling $354,083. FRA determined the probable cause of the derailment was H601 – Coupling speed excessive.

  • Data Breach Reports
CONTENTS Information & Background on ITRC ........... 2 Methodology .............................................. 3 ITRC Breach Stats Report Summary .......... 4 ITRC Breach Stats Report ..........................5 ITRC Breach Report ................................ 42 Information and Background on ITRC Information management is critically important to all of us - as employees and consumers. For that reason, the Identity Theft Resource Center has been tracking security breaches since 2005, looking for patterns, new trends and any information that may better help us to educate consumers and businesses on the need for understanding the value of protecting personal identifying information. What is a breach? The ITRC defines a data breach as an incident in which an individual name plus a Social Security number, driver’s license number, medical record or financial record (credit/ debit cards included) is potentially put at risk because of exposure. This exposure can occur either electronically or in paper format. The ITRC will also capture breaches that do not, by the nature of the incident, trigger data breach notification laws. Generally, these breaches consist of the exposure of user names, emails and passwords without involving sensitive personal identifying information. These breach incidents will be included by name but without the total number of records exposed. There are currently two ITRC breach reports which are updated and posted on-line on a weekly basis. The ITRC Breach Report presents detailed information about data exposure events along with running totals for a specific year. Breaches are broken down into five categories, as follows: business, banking/credit/financial, educational, Government/Military and medical/healthcare. The ITRC Breach Stats Report provides a summary of this information by category.
