PARTICIPATION The Quito IV meetings brought together 14 Participants of the Regional Interagency Coordination participating countries from the region – the Platform, including UN agencies (ILO, IOM, UNAIDS, highest level of participation to date – as well as UNICEF, UNHCR and WHO), representatives from civil key cooperating States and actors in the regional society organizations and the International Red Cross/ humanitarian response (United States, European Red Crescent Movement were also in attendance and Union, Canada, Sweden, Netherlands, among others) played an active role across the two-day meeting. in addition to the World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank.

MAIN OUTCOMES The Quito IV meeting resulted in the adoption of two documents – “Quito IV Declaration” and “Road Map of the Buenos Aires Chapter of the Quito Process” – which reaffirmed the importance of regional coordination to facilitate human mobility in line with human rights standards and outline prioritized issues and actions for the coming weeks and months.

July 2019 July 2019 [SPA] THE QUITO PROCESS The Quito Process is a government-led initiative that aims at creating a collective strategy to harmonize policies and practices of countries in the region, coordinate the humanitarian response and improve access to services and enjoyment of rights.
Some of its priorities includes developing regularization procedures, fostering economic and social integration, encouraging international cooperation and guaranteeing full access to rights and social service.
THE QUITO DECLARATION ON HUMAN MOBILITY OF QUITO VENEZUELAN CITIZENS IN THE REGION 4 September 2018 | Quito. ECUADOR The Declaration adopted by eleven Latin American countries* set general commitments to face the complex situation of the Venezuelan human mobility and the host communities. One of the main objectives is the exchange of information and good practices and to articulate a regional coordination to respond to the situation and adequately welcome Venezuelan citizens, especially those in vulnerable conditions.
PLAN OF ACTION 22-23 November 2018 | | Quito. ECUADOR To achieve the objectives of the Declaration, concrete action with QUITO II timelines were defined through the establishment of the Plan of Action of the Quito Process on Human Mobility for Venezuelan Nationals in the Region.**
INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT 8 -9 April 2019 | Quito. ECUADOR The results of the Plan of Action were evaluated and follow up mecha- nisms were established. The funding needs of governments in the region QUITO III were analysed and the role of international support and cooperation was highlighted as determining factors for the sustainability of the regional response.
ROAD MAP OF THE BUENOS AIRES CHAPTER 4-5 July 2019 | Buenos Aires. ARGENTINA The latest round of meetings resulted in the adoption of a Road Map which includes the creation of technical working groups to advance on proposals related to registration/documentation, protection, reception QUITO IV and assistance, health, and socio-economic integration, as well as the proposed establishment of a “Friends of the Quito Process” group comprised of key actors from international cooperation.
