Annual Report 2018 44811_AR.indd 3 4/12/19 4:50 PM Suzy Marquard Over the last 13 years, GallopNYC has grown into a flourishing community of riders, families, volunteers, staff, and supporters—a diverse group bound by a shared belief that everyone has ability and can succeed. Our Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2018 was another banner year, and we are pleased to share our successes with you. You can see on every page of this report our happy riders, our proud vol- unteers and our well loved and cared for horses. I am especially proud of our riders’ improvements on their life goals. More than 75% of our riders working on focus and attention showed improvements! The improvements validate our deep belief in our riders’ abilities. And these results under- score an important point – while our riders are leaning to ride a horse, the real benefit is their improvement in the skills they need to succeed in life. We at GallopNYC truly believe in the organization’s abilities. In this last fiscal year, we continued to expand ridership, build financial strength and grow our donor base, all while subsidizing the riding fees for a majority of our riders. We created a new Seniors program, and we achieved certification as a Points of Light “Service Enterprise” for volunteer management, acknowledging the quality of our work with volunteers. You, our supporters, improved the lives of hundreds of New Yorkers with disabilities this year through your generous contributions. Thank you for believing in our riders’ abilities, and also in GallopNYC’s capacity to grow and improve as a leader in the field of therapeutic horsemanship and as an important resource for our New York City com- Letter munities. With your continued support, we will work toward our vision that every New Yorker with a disability has access to therapeutic riding. Reaching our vision will take bold action and dedicated support, but as you can see in these pages, it’s worth it all, for a glimpse of the joy on our riders’ faces, and the faces of their parents. Sincerely, Board Chair Board Suzy Marquard 44811_AR.indd 4 4/12/19 4:50 PM About GallopNYC GallopNYC brings the proven benefits of therapeutic horsemanship to children and adults with disabilities in NYC.
