MANAGEMENT & COACHING STAFF

Anthony Millerick : First Team Manager ‘Millers’ is now in his fifth season with the Row. He has guided us to two league titles, two promotions taking us from step 5 to step 3, a Hampshire Senior Cup Semi-Final, and lifting the Aldershot Senior Cup. A much sought- after manager whose services we are fortunate to retain. Tactically astute and, whilst he can be uncompromising, he has a way with his players that engenders loyalty.

Sam Rafique : First Team Coach Sam holds a UEFA License and is also currently an academy coach with Aldershot Town FC. Into his second season with us now, he’s had spells at Fleet Town, Godalming Town & Camberley Town. Affable and very approachable, Sam works incredibly hard for the Club.

Keith Benjamin : Goalkeeping Coach An experienced goalkeeping coach in his second season with us, Keith brings us a wealth of experience and provides specialist goalkeeper mentoring and coaching to our group of talented ‘keepers.

Mark Hurst : First Team Coach Mark is one of the highest regarded football coaches locally and has worked as a coaches' coach at both Fulham and Villareal FC. His coaching experience and approach to helping players achieve their best is a huge benefit to everybody directly involved with football at the club.

Neil Woodyer : First Team Coach Neil joins us this season. Well known to Millers from playing under him during Neil’s time as assistant manager at Camberley some 10 years ago. Strong in his opinion yet also very willing to hear another point of view, Woody’s approachable manner will make him a great asset to the club working alongside Sam and Mark, having already worked with Sam at Fleet briefly.

Mark Povey : Sports Therapist Mark joins us this season. He comes to us with a wealth of ex- perience in the game and we are very fortunate to have his talent at the club. Having left Wealdstone FC during the sum- mer, Mark has come in with some fresh ideas and tech- niques regarding physiotherapy, fitness and general well- being which has already benefited the players.

Colin Charlton : Kit man. Colin works hard behind the scenes and on match days, doing the vital support role for the team. He’s much more than just the man who looks after the kit! 22 CLUB NEWS

The Reserve side will embark on the new season in the Suburban league under a new manager, Sean Hayes.

Sean captained Hartley ‘A’ last season, helping the team to suc- cess as Aldershot & District Sen- ior League Champions. He is now looking forward to management and will be assisted by coach, Sam Cave.

Already well known around the Club, Sean was delighted to hear confirmation of his appointment following discussions with First Team manager Anthony Millerick. “I’m really looking forward to the challenge, buzzing to get start- ed.”

The Club warmly thanks Ricky Hogsden and Neil Lancaster for their work with the Reserves. [KOB]

A longside the senior club, Hartley Wintney Junior FC has a hard-earned rep- utation as a well-respected and organised football club. We welcome players of all abilities – across our age groups we have a range of teams that cater for the needs of the individual player, engendering a spirit of learning through having fun. We support over 250 children across more than 20 teams, ranging from under 7s to under 17/18s – and we start with children from the age of 5 joining us in weekly training sessions.

The Junior Football Club has close connections with Hartley Wintney FC, not only through sharing ground facilities but also from the support and guidance of the Senior Club coaching staff who train a number of our teams; this provides op- portunity for players to progress onto the Youth, Reserves and even 1st team squads.

Key for us is to provide football for boys and girls of the local community in a safe and friendly environment. And this coming season we are putting a real focus on the girls. Our first girls team will be getting off the ground in Septem- ber – the Hartley Wintney U10 Tigers will be taking to the pitch for the first time as we harness the momentum started by the Lionesses in the recent World Cup. Finding a league to play in is not easy here in North East Hampshire – but we are determined to crack all that stands in our way and give all of our kids here in Hartley Wintney the chance to play the beautiful game.

The Junior club is somewhat of a recent addition (certainly when compared to the long history of the senior club) and were founded in 1996. Known as the Hawks, the club started with just 2 teams who played friendly matches on pitch- es that were marked out by cones. From our early roots we have grown some- what and are now affiliated to the Hampshire FA. We play fixtures in the North East Hants League, as well as entering teams into the annual Hampshire Cup competitions. Training is taken by professional coaches and held at Robert Mays

Floodlit Astro Pitch and the RAF facilities in Odiham. We also run organised Foot- ball Schools during holiday times to build on a mixture of training, football skills and active healthy fun – with our next one being held on the 21-23 August….

The club is run by dedicated volunteers, who are all Level 1, Emergency Aid and Safeguarding qualified, and who have completed an enhanced Criminal Records Check. We abide by the FA Codes of Conduct, FA Policies and implement the Respect Programme. We strive to achieve respect both on and off the pitch from our opponents; we achieved the NEHYL Fair Play award - awarded for good dis- cipline and sportsmanship – in two consecutive years, and seek to repeat this.

Hartley Wintney Junior FC is an FA Chartered Standard club , a marque first achieved in 2011/12 – all that we do as a club is built around the key tenets of maintaining FA Chartered Standard status. Our latest initiative is the formation of a Junior Football Committee to give our players the voice they deserve to help shape and run their Football Club.

Do get in contact with us if you are able to support in any way – and especially if you have someone with young legs and wanting to just get out onto the grass and play football! Our new motto is dear to everything we do here at the Foot- ball Club: “We Only Do Positive”
