CAMPAIGNING U.S. election ‘war rooms’; watching Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton debate; canvassing for a former television star. TWO GREY STUDENTS ARE FUNDED TO JOIN THE US ELECTION CAMPAIGN IN AMERICA JACK HODGES: Thanks to the generous funds provided by the Grey College Association, I was able to travel to Florida to participate in the Clinton 2016 Campaign. While, evidently, the campaign didn’t go completely to plan, it was an extraordinary experience and one that I am incredibly grateful to have been part.

Under the Florida Democrats, the campaign opened up thirty-three offices across the swing state, with the goal of increasing voter registration. I was placed in Fort Myers as a Field Organizer. During the day, I moved through my assigned areas, attempting to register potential voters who were passing by. From 5PM, we would call democrat voters, attempting to recruit volunteers. It was then my job

ROCKY BEGINNINGS FOR STUDENT MARIAMA DRYAK Mariama Dryak tells us about the trip of a lifetime.

MARIAMA DRYAK: I travelled to Rocky Mountain National Park to take a mountaineering course, in hopes of adding to my future skill-set when carrying out outdoor recreation and research in mountain environments. Day one of the course taught me the basics of mountaineering, and how to safely travel/ navigate in the mountains on a shorter climb. Day two of the course put what I had previously learned into action on a much longer, more difficult climb.

Originally the course was due to take place in July 2016, however a vehicle breakdown prevented me from being able to make the course. The managers at the Colorado Mountain School were accommodating
