The extensive grounds have been tastefully landscaped and restored to their former glory including the ornamental pond (on which the Farrer family children raced motorised boats with war-time evacuees), now home to an impressive collection of Koi Carp. Our development heralds a new chapter in the history of the Estate, one that we hope you will be part of too. A UNIQUE DEVELOPMENT STEEPED IN HISTORY Dating back t0 1867, this elegant mansion house and estate has been beautifully restored, retaining many of the attractive period features invoking its history yet tastefully combining modernity to create wonderful homes for 21st century living. Situated in the village of East Stoke on the River Frome, just a few miles from the county towns of Wareham and Wool, the Farrer Estate is surrounded by countryside of outstanding natural beauty. The main house, set within 17.5 acres of glorious grounds, was constructed in the Elizabethan style and became home to generations of the Farrer family until the mid-20th century. The Estate has a rich and varied heritage; the main house playing an important role in WWII, creating a happy home for evacuees escaping the blitz before being requisitioned by the Americans to house Army officers. Echoes of its past are evident in the painstakingly restored fireplaces, decorative mouldings and the retained servant’s bells, all of which combine to give the interiors a truly unique and unmistakably British sense of style. The family’s old stables are equally impressive buildings that we have also restored and redeveloped to create charming and characterful homes. 17 18 SITE PLAN THE COURTYARD COLLECTION 1 Coach House One 4 Bedroom Home 2 Coach House Two & Three Three Bedroom Homes 3 Coach House Four & Five Three Bedroom Homes THE MANOR HOUSE 4 West Wing - Ground Floor One & Two Bedroom Apartments 4 West Wing - First Floor One & Two Bedroom Apartments 5 East Wing - Ground Floor One & Two Bedroom Apartments 2 5 East Wing - First Floor Two & Three Bedroom Apartments 3 5 1 4 THE COURTYARD COLLECTION Set around a spacious courtyard, these five individual properties, with pleasing honey-coloured brick exteriors complemented by smart grey slate roofs and period sash windows, feature well-planned interiors with three or four double bedrooms.
