4 New Police Station Begins to Take Shape Construction of the new police station continues to progress since crews broke ground in February, with the structural steel columns and beams now in place. During the past month, masons have been laying concrete masonry units (CMU) walls around the perimeter of the lower level and also around the elevator shaft and stairways. Next steps include pouring the concrete floor for the upper level and completing the mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-ins for the lower level.
