He gave his full support to Austrian companies in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for 7 years and could see a dramatic increase in Austrian exports but also in investments to Malaysia. Prior to Kuala Lumpur he assisted Austrian companies in their efforts to succeed in the UN Oil for Food Program in Iraq as well as in the first after war reconstruction programs as Commercial Counsellor in Baghdad. Bangkok, Helsinki and Abu Dhabi were his other stations getting a lot of experience in different parts of the world and cultures. His academic background is in law and linguistics. Dr. Schröder graduated with PhD in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Vienna. He also studied Finno- Ugristics, specializing in Finnish and Estonian language, literature and culture. After his MBA at the Technical University of Munich in 1994, he entered into the highly innovative semiconductor field at the Silicon Valley company National Semiconductor.
