An MoU was signed between RLDA, an arm of the Railways for commercial exploitation of rail land, and NBCC, a PSU of urban development ministry for implementation of station redevelopment projects for the 10 identified stations. ii. NBCC has now been given 10 stations in first phase for redevelopment and more stations would be given to them in subsequent phases. iii. The identified stations to be taken up initially by NBCC for redevelopment are Tirupati, Sarai Rohilla (Delhi), Nellore, Puducherry, Madgaon, Lucknow, Gomtinagar, Kota, Thane (New), and Ernakulam. Mumbai's Vikrikar Bhavan renamed as GST Bhavan Mumbai's 'Vikrikar Bhavan' was renamed as 'GST Bhavan' on 2nd of July 2017 after the Goods and Services Tax regime was rolled out. i. 'Vikrikar Bhavan' is the headquarters of Maharashtra government's erstwhile Sales Tax department. ii. In two years, the 'GST Bhavan' will be shifted to Wadala from Mazgaon. Telangana to have separate Agriculture Budget from next year Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, has decided to present a separate agriculture budget for the state from next year. i. Chief Minister Rao has also decided to substantially enhance funds for the agriculture sector. ii. He has asked the officials to form farmers' associations at various levels -- from villages to the state -- to organise the cultivators. Odisha CM Naveen inaugurates Computerisation of PACS and Rupay KCC Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has inaugurated computerisation of PACS and launched RuPay Kisan Credit cards in the state on 1st of July 2017. i. Its main aim to bring this programme to ensure transparency through technology and teamwork. iii. By converting the PACS as One Stop Shops the government is keen to address all requirements of the farmers. v. Patnaik also distributed micro ATMs for dispensation of loans at the doorsteps of the farmers. vi. With computerisation of PACS, farmers are now able to draw their sanctioned loans from the ATM network of National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) having 2.14 lakh ATMs of all banks across the country. Madhya Pradesh sets record with plantation of 6 cr saplings in day The Madhya Pradesh government has set a record of 6 cr saplings were planted in 24 districts of Narmada basin in just 12 hours. i. MP government has undertook a massive plantation drive on 2 July 2017 to save the environment and for the conservation of the Narmada River. ii. The plantation drive that started from 7 am continued till 7 pm along the banks of the river covering 24 districts of the state. iii. The arrangement for 3 Cr saplings was done by the forest department, while the remaining 3 Cr were provided by other departments and private nurseries. Supreme Court allows woman to abort 26-week foetus due to abnormalities The Supreme Court has permitted a woman, who is in her 26th week of pregnancy, to abort her foetus that is suffering from severe cardiac ailments. It has been announced by Supreme Court on 3rd of July 2017. i. A bench of Justice Dipak Misra and M Khanwilkar said the procedure of termination of pregnancy should be carried out "forthwith" at the SSKM Hospital in Kolkata. ii. The direction came after the bench perused the report of the medical board. Kerala CM launches ride sharing app for techies G-Ride Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has launched a G-Ride app. It is a digital ride sharing platform designed and deployed for the IT industry by the Group of Technology Companies (GTech). i. The G-Ride app automatically matches co-workers and neighbours and help them travel together to work. It is available in Android and iOS versions. ii. The main aim to launch this app is to bring down the use of vehicles by half. iii. The department’s head office has set up in Panaji. i.
