ECDG j{xÜxtá, on behalf of the citizens of the City of Cleveland, I am honored to offer this Proclamation designating August 23, 2014 as Cleveland Gladiators Day in Cleveland; and, j{xÜxtá, on August 23, 2014, the Cleveland Gladiators will take on the Arizona Rattlers at Quicken Loans Arena in pursuit of their quest to become Arena Football League (AFL) champions and victors of ArenaBowl XXVII; and, j{xÜxtá, led by Head Coach, Steve Thonn, the Cleveland Gladiators finished the 2014 regular season with a 17-1 record, setting a new AFL record for regular season victories. This record included six wins on the final play of the game and nine wins decided by one touchdown or less; and, j{xÜxtá, the Cleveland Gladiators’ defense finished the season allowing only 43.4 points scored per game - 3rd overall in the league; 273.3 yards per game - 7th overall in the league; and, 5.8 yards per play - 2nd overall in the league; and, j{xÜxtá, the Cleveland Gladiators’ offense finished the season scoring 55.1 points per game and averaged 290.7 total yards of offense per game. The offense was led by Quarterback, Shane Austin, who ranked in the Top 5 of Quarterbacks for the season with total offense of 4,016 yards, 100 total touchdowns, and a passing efficiency rate of 115.9; and, j{xÜxtá, the Cleveland Gladiators advanced to ArenaBowl XXVII by defeating the Philadelphia Soul by a score of 37-39 and the Orlando Predators by a score of 46-56. The City of Cleveland supports the Cleveland Gladiators and wishes them the best in ArenaBowl XXVII. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Frank G. Jackson, the 56th Mayor of the City of Cleveland, do hereby offer this Proclamation designating Saturday, August 23, 2014, as Cleveland Gladiators Day. I invite all Clevelanders to take this opportunity to demonstrate their pride and support of the Cleveland Gladiators. Albany Joins the NAL
Albany Joins The NAL Albany, NY - The National Arena League is proud to announce their new partnership and expansion into Albany, New York. The Albany arena team, under the ownership of Ron Tridico and Nate Starling, are joining the NAL and fielding a team starting in the 2021 season. Albany has signed a three-year agreement and will play in the Times Union Center. Starling shared, “I am grateful for the opportunity to be able to bring such a wonderful sport back to my home state and fans.” Tridico also added, “We are excited to expand to this historic market and get started. We can’t wait for the 2021 season.” The NAL is currently made up of 9 teams; Columbus Lions, W.V. Roughriders, Carolina Cobras, Jersey Flight, Jacksonville Sharks, Louisville Xtreme, Tampa Bay, Baltimore Lightning and Orlando Predators. The NAL is thrilled to be expanding to the Albany region that has a great fan base and a rich tradition of winning. “The addition of this market is tremendous for the NAL,” stated Commissioner Chris Siegfried. “Adding Albany, the recent AFL champions, into our league is going to make for a ton of excitement in 2021. Gateway Economic Development Corporation of Greater Cleveland (Gateway) was formed in 1990 by the City of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County, for the purposes of financing, building, owning and operating the Gateway Sports Complex in downtown Cleveland. Gateway owns Quicken Loans Arena, as well as Progressive Field and surrounding common areas, including Gateway Plaza along Ontario Avenue. Gateway’s lease agreements with the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Cavaliers, as revised and extended in 2004 and 2007, facilitate Gateway’s ability to continue as a good steward of these two tremendous buildings, as it has been for a generation. The leases with the Indians and the Cavaliers require the teams to pay for operating and maintenance costs of their respective facilities, many of the capital repair costs, as well as all of the cost of operating the Gateway Corporation. Gateway’s responsibilities – pursuant to a budget agreed upon annually with the teams and financed by team rental payments - include common area maintenance, insurance, security, and oversight of the maintenance and capital repairs of the ballpark and the arena, ensuring that Gateway’s facilities are maintained to guarantee their long-term viability.

GEORGE GODSEY CO-OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR/TIGHT ENDS COLLEGE: GEORGIA TECH NFL: 11TH SEASON DOLPHINS: THIRD SEASON George Godsey enters his 11th season as an NFL coach and third with the Dolphins after being named tight ends coach on Feb. 8, 2019. He was promoted to co-offensive coordinator/tight ends in 2021. Godsey has experience coaching on both sides of the football. In his 10 years (2011-20) as an NFL assistant coach, Godsey has been part of eight winning seasons, five division titles and one AFC Championship. His teams have compiled a .588 winning percentage. In 2020, Godsey oversaw the most productive tight end unit in Dolphins history. Mike Gesicki, Durham Smythe and Adam Shaheen combined for 91 receptions for 1,061 yards, both of which were team records for a tight end unit. The trio also tied the team’s tight end mark with 11 receiving touchdowns. Gesicki led the way with 53 receptions for 703 yards (13.3 avg.) and six touchdowns. His 703 yards were second-most by a tight end in Dolphins history and ranked fourth in the NFL that season. In his first year with the Dolphins in 2019, Godsey helped the second-year Gesicki improve from his rookie campaign. Gesicki caught five touchdowns in the final six games of the season, tied for the second-most by any NFL player in that span. His 51 receptions and 570 receiving yards were both fifth among AFC tight ends that season. Godsey spent the 2017 and 2018 seasons with the Detroit Lions. He was a defensive assistant responsible for special projects in 2017 and was promoted to quarterbacks coach in 2018.
