Condition 1. The right is reserved to refuse any entry, cancel or to alter the programme.

Condition 2. The Judge’s decision will be accepted as absolutely FINAL for the results of ALL EVENTS.

Condition 3. The Committee will not be held responsible for any accident to competitors, horses, spectators or vehicles or any other property on the showground.

Condition 4. No receipt for entries will be sent. Should Exhibitors wish to receive their numbers before the Show Day, a large stamped addressed envelope must be enclosed with the entries.

Condition 5. No entries by telephone or fax.

Condition 6. Any person riding on the show ground to wear a hard hat and correct riding boots.

Condition 7. No motorised bicycles or quad bikes to be ridden on the show ground except by officials.

Condition 8. Spurs/Dress Spurs must NOT be worn in any pony classes

Condition 9. Handlers of colts/stallions must be 12 years and over.

Condition 10. For showing in hand classes all handlers 16yrs and under MUST wear hard hats. All other handlers to be appropriately dressed.

THE SIDE SADDLE ASSOCIATION

Class 17 The Side Saddle Association Equitation Championships Open Qualifying Class Run under S.S.A. Rules defined in the current Members Handbook. Open to S.S.A. Members and Non-Members. Members carrying their current Championship Points Cards are eligible for S.S.A. rosettes to 3rd Adult and 3rd Junior places and S.S.A. Championship Points. Southernden Farm offers a rosette to the highest placed Member aged 14 on 1st January of the current year. Side Saddle International offer a rosette to the Adult Member and Manor Grange Stud Show Centre to the Junior Member, judged to be the best turned out.

Class 18 Side Saddle Concours d’Élégance The sole criterion for this class is the elegance of the picture presented by horse and rider. Attention may be paid to the rider’s personal appearance but detailed inspection of rider or tack is not required. Fancy dress or period costume is permitted. Competitors are required to walk, trot and canter. No individual show is required, but the Judge may ask groups of 3 or 4 riders to give short displays. 4 Special rosettes will be awarded to the highest placed Adult Members wearing a silk hat, bowler hat, safety hat and the highest placed Junior Member of the S.S.A carrying their current Championship Points Cards. N.B. Silk hats are permitted to be worn by Adults IN THIS CLASS AT ANY TIME OF DAY. Juniors must wear hats to current British Safety Standards or above for this class. Adult riders not wearing such hats do so at their own risk.

Class 19 Best Horse or Pony Ridden Side Saddle Open to horses and ponies 4 years old or over: confirmation & manners will be taken in to consideration; horses/ponies will not be stripped. A Special rosette will be awarded to the highest place Adult and Junior Members of the S.S.A. carrying their Championship Points Cards.

Class 21 Side Saddle COSTUME Concours d’Élégance The sole criterion for this class is the elegance of the picture presented by horse/pony and rider, and the way of going of the horse/pony. Safe tack must be used. Detailed inspection of the rider’s period costume is not required. Fancy dress is not permitted. Competitors are required to walk, trot and canter. The two highest placed exhibits not already qualified will qualify for the relevant Equifest Championship to be held at the East of Showground on 13th – 17th August 2014.

Class 10 - NUPAFEED / EQUIFEST RIDING HORSES Open Riding Horse, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, any height. Riders any age. Classes may be divided as follows: - Small Riding Horses - mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, exceeding 148cms but not exceeding 158cms. Riders any age. - Large Riding Horses - mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, exceeding 158cms. Riders any age.

Class 12 - OPTIMUM COOLING LTD / EQUIFEST RIDDEN HUNTERS Open Ridden Hunter, mare or gelding, 4 years old & over, exceeding 153cms. Riders any age. Classes may be divided as follows: - Lightweight Hunter, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, capable of carrying up to 12.7 stone. - Middleweight Hunter, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, capable of carrying 12.7 stone but not 14 stone. - Heavyweight Hunter, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over capable of carrying over 14 stone.

Class 21 - THE BOYCOTT TONIC / EQUIFEST WORKING HUNTER PONIES Working Hunter Pony, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 153cms. Riders must be the correct age for the animal they ride. If this classification is run as one class, fences must be adjusted for each height section. Classes may be divided as follows: - Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 133cms. Riders not to have attained their 14th birthday before 1st January in the current year. - Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, exceeding 133cms but not exceeding 143cms. Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 128cms. Riders not to have attained their 9th birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be led by an attendant and shown in a Snaffle Bridle, the lead rein to be attached to the noseband only.

Class 35 - THE HEWITT FAMILY/ EQUIFEST OPEN RIDDEN MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND Open to Mountain & Moorland ponies registered with their respective Pure Bred Societies of Connemara, Dales, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Shetland, Welsh A, B, C and D. Class 38 - MRS JANE LLOYD / EQUIFEST SHOW HUNTER PONY- LEAD REIN Show Hunter Pony – Lead Rein, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 122cms. Rider not to have attained their 9th Birthday before 1st January in the current year.

Class 39 – CHYCOOSE STUD / EQUIFEST RIDDEN SHOW HUNTER PONIES Show Hunter Pony, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 153cms. Class 59 - BSPA / EQUIFEST RIDDEN PIEBALD / SKEWBALD Open ridden Piebald / Skewbald stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old & over. Riders any age. The first three places will also qualify for the BSPA Championship. Subject to their show rules & conditions. Classes may be divided according to entries

BEST OF THE BEST SUPREME CHAMPIONSHIP 2014 Final to be held at H.O.P.E. Supreme Show, Rugby Riding Club Grounds, Ashlawn Road, Rugby, Warwickshire 17th August 2014. Open to all qualified horses & ponies to compete for: Best of the Best In Hand Supreme Champion Trophy, sash & £100.00 to winner £50.00 & sash to reserve. Best of the Best Ridden Supreme Champion Trophy, sash & £100.00 to winner £50.00 & sash to reserve. Gold medals to the best palomino in each section.

All in hand and ridden champions qualify. If champion already qualified, reserve champion will qualify. If champion & reserve have already qualified then 2nd reserve if awarded will qualify. N.B. **Those competitors who are non-members and qualify must apply for Membership 10 working days after the event. No late Membership is accepted and the qualification will not be accepted. Any qualification card is not valid to a Regional or National VHS Championship without a Membership Number.

No galloping or spurs are permitted in the ring. Basic walk, trot and canter. Mark system will be generally: condition and movement in relation to age and turnout. Stallions handler or rider must be of 16 years. Turnout in accordance with breed. All competitors must be compliant with VHS rules and regulations. Qualification cards will be handed out in the ring at the time of presentation. The same veteran and handler/rider combination must carry qualification. No exchange of horse or rider is accepted. The Regional Final Champion and Reserve Champion will go on to compete at the Veteran Horse Showing Championship Supreme Final.
