PHOENIX EAST AVIATION ORDERS CITATION MUSTANGS

Daytona Beach, Florida, USA –- Phoenix East Aviation, Inc. (PEA), a professional flight training academy in Daytona Beach, Florida, has announced placement of an order for two new Citation Mustang aircraft. The Mustang is the new, highly sought-after twin-engine by Cessna. These new Mustangs will join Phoenix East’s fleet of Diamond DA-42, Piper PA-34, Cessna C-172SP, and Decathlon 8KCAB aircraft.

The Model 510 is in the “” (VLJ) class of business jets; however, it is not a typical VLJ, as it is certified to the same jet standards as the CJ series and its design is based on Cessna’s extensive experience with larger jets. It is also certified for single pilot operations for U.S. registered aircraft.

The Mustang is equipped with two Pratt & Whitney PW615F engines. The aircraft has retractable tricycle landing gear and a T-tail. A pressurized cabin accommodates a crew of two and up to four passengers in club seating arrangement.

With a speed of 340 KTAS (630 km/hr or 391 mph), the Mustang is faster than old- technology turboprops requires only a 3,110 ft takeoff runway length and 2,390 ft landing runway length. The maximum altitude is 41,000 ft (12,497 m) with a range of 1,150 nm.

Many of Phoenix East Aviation’s training aircraft are equipped with Garmin G1000 integrated avionics systems, just as the Cessna Mustang is. The glass cockpit consolidates all primary flight, navigation, engine and sensor data into easy-to-scan flat panel displays. Located between the flight deck’s two 10.4 inch Primary Flight Displays (PFDs) is a 15 inch Multi-Function Display (MFD) – the largest on any business jet.

Phoenix East Aviation, Inc. provides comprehensive pilot training, specializing in professional flight instruction. FAR Part 141, private, commercial and multi-engine professional programs and FAR Part 61 courses are offered. The school is nationally accredited and is approved to offer Veteran Benefits under the G.I. Bill, as well as offering M-1 and J-1 visa programs for foreign students. Headquartered in Daytona Beach, Florida, where the climate permits flight operations 350+ days a year, the school has been in continuous operation since 1972.
