Marking the 100 anniversary since American women gained the right to vote. For years, women in white with of purple, white, green or gold embellished with slogans such as “Votes for Women,” marched in the streets to gain this privilege often wearing this simple but lovely versatile boater hat on their heads. This class is an introduction to flat pattern millinery and will give the student the basic skills that are transfer- able to other hat of patterns. Students will draft a custom pattern, learn how to mark, cut and wire the buckram foundation and cover the foundation with fabric to create the completed hat. Trim will be discussed but final finishing will be left for finishing at home.

Instructor: Lynne began her studies in millinery in 1999, Attended College of Alameda in 2000 and in 2001 be- gan teaching classes for GBACG where she became workshop coordinator.
