A few good man concerns the death of a Marine at the U.S Naval Base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He may have died as part of the internal, illegal but traditional, disciplining of a sloppy soldier by his fellows, or, because he had been sending complaining letters to influential outsiders asking for a transfer, the disciplining order may have come from higher up. Or the corporal and PFC who worked him over, may have wanted, or been ordered, to kill him. A young Navy Lawyer, J.G. Kaffee, has been appointed to the defense (perhaps because he is inexperienced) over the head of sexy and smart Lieutenant Commander Joanne Galloway, another lawyer, itching to get the case. In the event, she and Lieutenant J.G. Weinberg, a brand-new father, end up assisting Kaffee, a box in sheep's clothing. There are flashbacks, trips to the camp, the Washington court-martial, and behind- the-scenes intrigue aplenty.
