35. SWOC analysis of the department and Future plans :

Strength: MOST OF THE STUDENTS OF THE DEPARTMENT ARE COME FROM LOCAL RAJBANSHI COMMUNITY. THE DEPARTMENT COLLECTS BOOKS ABOUT RAJBANSHI LANGUAGE (GRAMMAR OF THE RAJBANSHI LANGUAGE), RAJABANSHI LITERATURE Etc.

THE TEACHERS OF THE DEPARTMENT INSPIRED THE STUDENTS (SPECIALY IN P.G. COURSE) FOR COLLECTING DATA FROM NEARBY VARIOUS ETHNIC COMMUNITY. FOLK LITERATURE, FOLK SONGS, TOTEM-TABU, LANGUAGE, FAITH, GRAM DEVATA (GOD OF THE VILLAGE) Etc. ARE THE GENERAL TOPIC OF SEMINAR PAPER SEMINARS ARE HELD FROM TIME TOTIME ON THE AVOBE MENTIONED TOPICS.

Weakness: HUGE NUMBER OF STUDENTS IN HONOURS COURSE IS THE MAJOR PROBLEM, STUDENTS TEACHERS RATIO SHOULD BE REDUCED.

THERE IS NO MEMBER IN THE P.G. BOARD OF STUDIES FROM OUR COLLEGE. SO WE HAVE NO RIGHT TO MAKE SYLLABUS FROM OUR OWN CONCEPT OR SCHOOLING. COLLEGE TEACHERS ARE FAR BEHIND FROM SETTING UP QUESTION PAPER OR EVALUATION OF ANSWER SCRIPTS.

THERE IS NO OFFICE STAFF IN OUR DEPARTMENT.

Opportunities: THERE ARE OPPORTUNITIES TO DEVELOP OUR DEPARTMENTAL LIBRAY. MORE ESSENTIALS BOOKS CAN BE BOUGHT IF FUNDS ARE PROVIDED. WE CAN ALSO DEVOLOPE A JOURNAL SECTION IN OUR DEPARTMENT. SOME LANGUAGE ORIENTED PROGRAMMES OR CULTURAL PROGRAMMES AMONG STUDENTS CAN BE ORGANISED BY FACALTY IF PROPER INFUSSTRUCTURE PROVIDED.WE CAN GROW A STUDY-CENTER & FOLK MUSIUM IN NEAR FUTURE FOR ENRICH AND PRESERVE OUR FOLK CULTURE.

Challenges: THE STUDENT WHO ADMITTED IN P.G COURSE MOSTLY HAIL FROM ECONOMICALLY WEAKER SECTION IN THIS REGION.BUT THESE STUDENTS HAVE INNER URGE TO LEARN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE. WE CAN IMPART THEM NEW KNOWLEDGE ON THE LATEST DEVELOPMENT IN THE REALM OF LINGUISTICS AND LITERARY THEORIS.
