Poulsbo Established by Norwegian immigrants in 1882, Poulsbo’s historic Downtown maintains a Scandinavian ambiance and is often referred to as “Little Norway on the Fjord”.

Olympic Discovery Trail This paved trail begins in Port Townsend and will ultimately reach all the way to the west coast. Cycling Events

Tour de Lavender Cycle the lavender farms of the Sequim Dungeness Valley on the first Saturday of August. Serious riders complete the Metric Century while casual riders enjoy the Family Fun Ride. https://tourdelavender.com

Ride the Hurricane Ride from Port Angeles to the top of Hurricane Ridge on the first Sunday of August – a 15-mile steady climb to the magnificent summit.

Tour de Forts This tour, held in early June, starts at Fort Worden, makes a stop at Old Fort Townsend State Park, and visits Fort Flagler, taking the cyclist through the history of Jefferson County.

S’Klallam Totem Tour Recumbent Ride This no-fee, open registration event in mid-July takes riders to more than 40 local Jamestown S’Klallam totem poles between Blyn and Sequim using the Olympic Discovery Trail and local bike paths.

Tour de Dung(eness) Road Race Held in mid-March, this racing event has a start/finish across from the Dungeness State Park and Recreation Area in Sequim.

Waterfalls & Hot Springs

Marymere Falls Marymere Falls is one of the favorite destinations for our guests at George Washington Inn. At a leisurely pace, you can hike this trail through the lush forest to the falls and back in about an hour and a half. With assistance, it is also an accessible hike to the lower viewpoint. Sol Duc Falls & Hot Springs Just a short distance west of Lake Crescent, turn south on Sol Duc Hot Springs Road and drive about 12 miles through old growth forest, past the salmon run, to the hot springs, offering three mineral hot spring soaking pools and one freshwater pool. The falls are located a short 1.6 mile round trip hike from the hot springs. Consider extending your hike to take in the scenic Lover’s Lane trail – another 2.8 miles from the falls back to the hot springs.

Madison Creek Falls This falls is easily accessible by everyone, including visitors who may be wheelchair-bound or have other mobility challenges, via a short 200-foot paved path to the base of the falls.

Lighthouses Our location on the northern coast of Washington State provides an unparalleled view of over ten lighthouses and easy driving access to several more. A few are open for tours, others are inaccessible, but all are still in operation. New Dungeness Easily visible from the inn’s piazza, the upstairs veranda, and the north windows of all of our guest suites, the New Dungeness Lighthouse sits at the end of the Dungeness Spit just a short drive from the inn. Cape Flattery Cape Flattery was named by Captain James Cook on March 22, 1778 when he wrote, "there appeared to be a small opening which flattered us with the hopes of finding an harbour ...
