Commencement Exercises

COLLEGE

Cincinnati Music Hall

Cincinnati,

One o'clock p.m.

Sunday, September 21, 1986 America The Beautiful

0 beautiful for spacious skies/For amber waves of grain. For purple mountain majesties/Above the fruited plain. America! America! God shed His grace on thee, and crown thy good with brotherhood From sea to shining sea. 0 beautiful for patriot dream/ That sees beyond the years. Thine alabaster cities gleam/Undimmed by human tears. America! Amer ica! God shed His grace on thee, And crown thy good with brother hood From sea to shining sea.

Ecumenical Prayer

Give us open· minds, 0 Lord, minds ready to receive and towel come new light of knowledge as may be revealed to us. Let not the past ever be so dear to us as to set limits to the future. Give us courage to change our minds, when that is needed. Let us be toler ant to the thoughts of others and receptive to such awareness as may come to us through them. May we be human channels through which love and compassion may reach the hearts and lives of those nearest to us. Amen

Music recorded by Rod Rupp.
