Old Business:

Kathy Creighton (Butler County) is the current keeper of the MHS display banner.

Aashi will be sending announcements for the World War I Adhoc Committee and Marketing Committee meetings.

New Business:

MHS leadership has been meeting to review goals and strategic plans for 2017-2018.

Budget: Aashi proposed setting a budget for each committee to allow the committees to function for efficiently.

Marketing Committee $100, with extra funds to be allocated as needed by vote. Motion made by Linda Magee, 2nd Kathy Creighton, OK’d

Membership Committee: $200.00 for speaker honorariums, new members recruitment letters, etc Motion made by Adam Wanter, 2nd Kathy Creighton, OK’d

Discussions/ News:

2017 is a rebuilding year for the organization. Putting in place budgets, policies and procedures so the monthly meetings are more focused on professional development and the committees and do their work efficiently. Goals is to host 1 or 2 events in 2017 and organizationally be ready for 2018.

Member Events: Be sure to submit your events to Aashi for social media promotion and Susan Rogers to have them posted on the MHS website calendar.

Presentation: Caitlin Tracey-Miller, Visitor Research Coordinator at the , will be our guest speaker. She gave us an overview of data collection, analysis and why it is important to organizations of all sizes.

The Education / Outreach Anderson Township Historical Society/Miller- Committee shall work with the members of the Leuser Log House Consortium to provide guidelines and speakers for The Betts House multi-disciplinary (STEM, language arts, etc.) Social The Butler County Historical Society Studies state standard aligned programs for schools and The Center for Holocaust and Humanity educators in the Greater Cincinnati Area and to promote Education our members to the overall local history community. Chrisholm Historic Farmstead The Christian Waldschmidt Homestead and Special Events Sub-Committee. The Special Events Civil War Museum/Ohio Society DAR Committee shall be responsible for planning and /Society for the directing public events hosted by this Consortium.
