Peter Pan Bus Lines’ Corporate Offices make historic move to Union Station

Springfield, MA: In 1969, the songs “Sugar Sugar”, “Aquarius” and “Honky Tonk Women” topped the music charts, Woodstock made concert history, the U.S. put a man on the moon, and Peter Pan Bus Lines moved into their main headquarters at 1776 Main Street in Springfield, MA.

Fast forward 49 years, and history has been made again as Peter Pan’s Corporate Offices move for the first time since 1969 to the newly renovated Union Station in Springfield.

Peter A. Picknelly, chairman and CEO of Peter Pan Bus Lines said it was time for change. “We wanted to create modern office space for our employees. We tried to blend the old with the new, with all the history we have here in Springfield.”

Peter Pan officially opened on the third floor of Union Station on June 25. The space has 22,000 square feet of open space, huge windows and views of the busy transportation area. There’s also a new training center, large conference rooms and a larger more-efficient call center. And to keep their history alive, a mural of the old bus station and an old sign are now works of art on display.

This important move is part of Peter Pan’s continued growth as one of the largest privately owned motorcoach companies in the USA, serving over 100 communities in the Northeast with the most daily express service.

Peter Pan Bus Lines was founded in 1933 by Peter A. Picknelly’s grandfather Peter C. Picknelly. That’s when Bing Crosby’s “Just An Echo In The Valley” and Hal Kemp’s “Shuffle Off To Buffalo” topped the charts. It’s also the year Teddy Roosevelt was inaugurated.
